Oh this place is good. Owner run by Christin and Mändel it's a perfect place for breakfast, a quick bite or a fancy celebratory dinner. The wine list is big and bold and interesting, the food is delicious, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the view is one of the best in the world.
Sit outside, staring up at the Eiger, for breakfast or a locally brewed Rugenbräu (or a coffee, or a whisky, or one of their selection of teas, or cold drinks...the list goes on, you get the picture!). Talking of breakfast - the bircher is like a massive pudding to share - wonderful - and the selection of breads, cheeses and ham will set you up for any amount of hiking in the surrounding trails.
Dinner? Magnificent. Sit upstairs in the traditional wood-panelled dining area and enjoy perfectly cooked lamb and steak, local fish, ratatouille, lots of hearty cheese and potato based dishes, and maybe best of all Christin’s home-marinated salmon with pumpernickel bread and mustard sauce
