“lovely boutique hotel in Swiss mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

We found this hotel on the Internet after reading other TripAdvisor reviews about it. The hotel is newly renovated and the design is modern with a Swiss country flair. We will certainly try to come back !

Usually I don't bother to write reviews, but our recent stay in The Grand Hotel Park was so outstanding, it commands one!
It has been quite some time that we have experienced such an attentive and flawless, but most of all personal service. Starting with a personal welcome by the Deputy General Manager whom we had the pleasure to meet upon arrival, all the way to the Maitre d' Emidio, who took care of us in the exquisite, Grand Retsaurant (mmh, just thinking of the most delicious Poularde de Bresse), we felt like home.

The recent renovation suits the hotel very well - modern, clean, clear, unobtrusive, while keeping the Swiss mountain flair (afterall, that's why you fly to Switzerland from California;)). And my wife found the Spa beautifully appointed, the service meticulous, and the whole experience very relaxing.

But most of all the combination of understated Old World charm, impeccable and personal, amicable service and the excellency of a World leading Hotel made this a stay we will not forget. And we look forward to many more returns!

Already when arriving at the Grand Hotel Park, there are a lot of people around helping with your bags, driving the car to the garage and welcoming you at the reception. If you're not staying at five star hotels all the time, an arrival like that is something special. Even the hotel director was present welcoming us. We were escorted to our room, which was a suite. Very elegant and yet cosy, a lot of space and first class interiors. Everything in the room was simply great and it felt good good just being here. The hotel offers also a SPA and and indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Also here, everything first class.
The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of food and drinks - and had also a lot of gluten- and lactose-free products. The atmosphere at the buffet was a little hectic and sometimes certain items were missing. Almost perfect, here, but a little bit more attention would be nice. What was really completely out-of-tune was the service on the terrace in the late afternoon. Service personnel did not care much for their quests. We had to wait too long to place an order and waited even longer for a couple of drinks to arrive. And staff were unfriendly, too. We did complain and the hotel director himself was looking after the matter. He was making things good, but things like that must not happen at a place like that. We had an almost perfect stay and hope to be back some other time.

We´ve been coming to Gstaad for many years, the last 5 with children. The Park was not always our preferred hotel but since the renovation this is certainly by far the best hotel in Gstaad. The rooms are beautiful and modern but have not lost the "chalet" charm one would expect in an alpine resort. The Spa with its salt water pool is fabulous, too. Wonderful restaurants. However, the service is what will bring us back: attentive, personable, with style and charm. Thank you for taking such good care of us !

Warm welcome, very spacious and quiet rooms with great view on the mountains, very nice fitness & spa facilities, and excellent Aromatherapy massage. Delicious breakfast buffet and very attentive service.

Excellent welcome, service, condition of the room. The hotel was recently renovated. Everything is of very high quality and value. Breakfast is generous and high quality. We were very much spoiled. Basically just like a 5 stars needs to be.

I had the pleasure to stay at The Grand Hotel Park on December 30th 2010, and spend the New Years in beautiful Gstaad . I found the Hotel to be absoluting gorgeous, as It has just been renovated. we stayed in a room that made me think of a private little chalet in the mountains! the interior was tasteful, modern, yet had that alpine design feel.

I found the service to be really genuine and the staff professional. The maitre'd , who happened to be Italian , was very warm and welcoming, he explained everything to us about the hotel, the menus and best places to Ski etc, as we had many questions!

There were a few different dining areas within the hotel, with diverse and gourmet menus....great Fusion, sushi, and also traditiaonal dishes.

We had an incredible meal the first night, I ordered the Steak
( and it was probably the most incredible steak i've ever had to date!) My wife had a risotto, and we were in heaven!

The meats were all local, and I found the products were of the highest quality.

I had a facial and massage in the Spa which was really amazing, a kind Japanese girl gave the treatment, and i found her very professional.
was the atmosphere was very relaxing, with an area to have tea and after the treatment.

I hope this review helps paint a picture of the Hotel, I've stayed in other hotels in this area in the years, but in my personal opinion this one really impressed us on so many levels.
will return!
