A train ride from Wilderswil, a short drive from Interlaken, will take you slowly up to 2068 meters, with the most fantastic view of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. You ar eexactly opposite these mountains, and see them better than from othermsites. There is a good botanic garden next to the end station, a hotel and restaurant, and nice walking paths. If you take the short on up, there is a good view of Interlaken and the lake of Thun, and when walking on the ridge, also of the lake of Brienz. The path can be narrow and good shoes are advised, even a stick can help. The path continues either down and back to the station, or straight on the ridge towards the east, you can choose the way down, or continue till First and then down by cable car to Grindelwald. Those who are afraid of open paths and heights should have someone to hold on, or just sit and enjoy the view on the station. It is also possible to walk down to Wilderswil, much less exposed than the trails on top. the trainride itself is in an old mountain train, and as it drives very slow, good for taking pictures.
