“Good on a Clear Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Definitely go on a clear day. We went up day of first snow in Sept 2013 when it cleared up in the late afternoon. Because it was 10F and 30 mph winds outside, we were unable to frolic in the snow as you see many other in pictures. There is still plenty to see and do and you can still get outside on the observation deck.

Your Half Fare card helps much with the price. Still spendy, but how often are you going to be here? Takes 50 minutes up and 40 minutes down. Two 5 minute stops on the way up to look out the observation windows. You go from 7000' to 11,500' pretty quickly so take care if you don't take altitude well.

“"The experience was awesome but we were not so lucky at the top"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

This was a unique experience for me. I could never imagine that there was rail track to reach Mt Jungfrau which was at such a great height.
The overall journey was lovely & enjoyed every bit of bit.
The train into the mountain leaves from Kleine Scheidegg station. Before arriving at the Jungfraujoch, the train stopped for a few minutes at two other stations, Eigerwand and Eismeer where we stepped out to see through the holes excavated from the mountain.
When we reached the top the weather had gone bad. We enjoyed food within the glass house which has been made & did other activities like taking photographs, going through the history of the place & how the railway tracks were made to reach the top. Outside view looked stormy & we were unable to view anything. While return journey at one place the train stopped as strong wind was blowing & there I saw snow fall for the first time in my life which I cannot forget.
Overall experience was great except for that we could go out & enjoy walking on the snow at the top beacuse of weather condition.
Camera is a must & hiking shoes are better. This event will take almost full day.

“MUST TRAVEL WITH KID OF GRAYLINE TOURS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

This trip to the TOP OF EUROPE with Grayline Tours out of Zurich was fabulous. This tour guide was like no other. He took photos, guided us, protected us from missteps and was wonderful.
The cog railroad with KID is the way to go.

“Fantastic views if you get lucky with weather”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

This is a unique experience in elevation and Swiss engineering. To reach the Jungfrau destination known as the Sphinx, you must take a train from either Lauterbrunnen or Wengen, then change trains at Klein Scheidegg. After Klein, the train passes through a long tunnel where you will not have vistas. When you arrive, follow the tour signs that take you through indoor exhibits and outdoor viewing areas. This is an expensive trip, but I recommend taking the earliest train if weather looks good. You will have more photo opportunities and less crowds at the top. Expect to walk on fairly level surfaces and they have elevators to change floors. It is very cold and windy, so wear protective clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses. If you take the earliest trains, you must begin your return by noon, which should allow plenty of time at the top.

“Nice trip, but check the weather first!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

We rode the train to Wengen and then gondola to Mannlichen and hiked to Kleine Scheidegg, main train station on way to Jungfrau. The mountains were socked in with clouds so the hike was in the fog, but that added ambience, even if limited views. With half fare card and not going all the way to the top, was a good day.
