The hotel is always very clean no matter how many times you stayed there. This is really important to me. The quality of meals is very good. Plus, the hotel has a perfect location in St. Gallen. Service is good and staff are friendly.

Many thanks for you fantastic feedback. It is a great pleasure to hear that our quality of services and facilities satisfy guests from across the globe. What do you think of our Asian food corner on the breakfast buffet?

We are very much looking forward to see you back at the Einstein and get further feedback from you in the future.
With best regards

Pros:
The hotel was nice, staff was extremely friendly, bathrooms looked to be updated and nice.

Cons:
The hotel is hot and has no air conditioning. This might be fine for European travelers who are not used to AC but for me it made the room way to hot. I had read on TripAdvisor that they could supply a portable AC for the room so I requested one but all it was is a fan for your room. It made it slightly better but still horrible. The staff told me that they will get AC next year so until then I wouldn't go back. The location was great, easy walking distance to the downtown area.

I know this is European thing but rather than having a king or queen bed they just put two single beds together. If you want guests from around the world make the hotel like other hotel chains and have one bed. Not fun for a couple to have to sleep on two single beds pushed together.

Dear World T
Many thanks for your open feedback following your recent stay at the Einstein St.Gallen. It is a great pleasure to read your very positive remarks on the friendliness of our staff as well as the quality of our modern bathrooms. We love to pass on such compliments to our team and know it will further motivate them to perform at their best.
We truly apologize for the unfortunate high temperature you had to experience in St.Gallen on June 8/9. Indeed, we recorded peak temperatures of more than 35 ̊ C (95 ̊ F), while St.Gallen’s mean temperature in summer is just 16 ̊ C (61 ̊ F). This affected a few of our low floor rooms facing south.
Please feel free to request a queen bedded room during your future visit and be informed that our superior category rooms will be equipped with A/C soon.
We once again apologize for not having met your expectations during this hot day early June and are very much looking forward to welcoming you back in the future.

I've stayed in the Einstein many times, but never in the economy room in summer. Don't do it! Despite the fact it claims to be a 4-star hotel, and the room cost ~US$300, there is no air conditioning -- zero zilch nada. Incredible but true. My room was 100F on arrival. Reception could hardly have been less helpful -- their only suggestion was a fan, which took 20 minutes to arrive. The description of the room on the travel sites (Expedia etc) is very alluring but silent on the question of A/C. Who would think to ask? That's like asking Hertz whether the car comes with a windshield. Frankly I consider what the hotel is doing in this regard to be unethical. You can't dupe guests with a phony offer and call yourself a 4-star hotel.

Room Tip: Beware the standard room in summer! There's no air conditioning!!

Dear „lyricskipper“
Thanks for the feedback following your recent stay at the Einstein St.Gallen. We sincerely apologize for not having met your expectation about offering central A/C in all our guest rooms. In fact, in most traditional Swiss hotels you seldom will find central A/C’s. With a maximum mean temperature in St.Gallen’s summer of 16 ̊ C (61 ̊ F) and all year average of 8 ̊ C (46 ̊ F) A/C is simply not as common as it may be in other countries. Indeed, on June 8/9 Switzerland has been hit by a century heat wave with record temperatures rising above 35 ̊ C (95 ̊ F) from below 10 ̊ C (50 ̊ F) just two nights earlier. A few south facing Economy rooms may have been affected by this rapid change from heating to cooling. We have recognized this shortcoming and can assure you that our engineers have immediately reacted on it. For the inconvenience we caused to you and your colleague, we sincerely apologize.
We are, however, happy to inform you that our superior rooms on the business and ladies floors will be equipped with A/C soon.
We are very thankful for your constructive comment as it enables us to enhance our services by anticipating severe weather conditions in the future. We hope we will be able to welcoming you back next summer, in one of our air-conditioned superior rooms.
With best regards

We booked last minute not sure what to expect. Great hotel with large room, spotless and very friendly staff. The breakfast was fantastic so much choice. We were there for my husbands birthday and on leaving the hotel were presented with a bottle of fizz. Nice touch, especially since we had not told them.
GREAT HOTEL; WOULD RECOMMEND.......

Room Tip: we took what was left and were not disappointed

We were booked in the Junior Suite on the Ladies Floor for three (3) nights. The room is large enough to accommodate a sitting area. The beige and light yellow colour scheme is very pleasant set against rich wood panels. Just a couple of things that the hotel needs to address: 1. English fashion magazines should be provided 2. time to change stained curtains 3. since this is a ladies floor, there should be a dresser or vanity table. It is difficult for women to apply make-up standing in the bathroom. 4. the pillows are too soft and set against the wood headboard. 5. replenish bottled drinking water. Drinking water seems to be a very expensive commodity that we were asked to pay each time we asked from the hotel. A lesson learned -- buy from the grocery which is close by because do not expect the hotel to replenish. Our room is fantastically located as it is quiet and you wake up to the chirping of birds! The hotel is well located to the Old Town where you will have all the shopping finds! Here they deduct immediately the tax so you do not worry about it when you leave Switzerland. Mont Blanc pens are so cheap here so do not forget to check them out! The chocolates are too die for! Going back to the hotel review -- shops and restaurants close at 5 pm during Saturdays and completely closed on Sundays so we had to eat in the hotel's restaurant outlets. I must say they were really good! The Swiss are naturally happy and friendly so that exuded in all the staff we met. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!

I stopped at the hotel for 7 days. The friendliness and hospitality of the hotel staff is amazing. Everybody was very kind and obliging. I was given a tea-kettle into the room at my request. The hotel location is superable: near the Cathedral and at the same time it takes some 20 minutes to go for a walk on the hillsides.
The breakfast is good and served in the best way.

We made a strategic stop going from Cortina D'ampezzo to Geneve. The city Is surprisingly amazing. The hotel Is a few steps from the Cathedral and from a street with plenty shops. The breakfast Is very good. Although the rooms need an update ( We stayed at the main building), they are very confortable.
