“Great location, comfy & clean, friendly staff, squeaky floors”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

My family and I stayed at TB&B for two nights in May. Evelyn was an incredibly good host as she was the main person behind the desk that we interfaced with. Upon arrival from the rainy outside, they were confronted with our tired and whiny kiddos. They were unphased, they handed them some available toys and books, gave us a tour and keys to the room. Bravo.

We used the Quad room and it was more than comfortable. Certainly, this is not the four seasons; all the furniture was IKEA, but the mattresses were comfy, there was plenty of space and everything was very clean (yeay switzerland!). The only down side was that the floors were very squeaky, so when the kids woke up, they woke us up; and vice versa.

There were two shared bathrooms on the floor, one with a gorgeous tub and ample utilities for bathing a baby! Surprise number 2. These guys are well prepared for children.

Breakfast was standard northern european (breads, butter, meat, cheese), but with some added granola, mixed jellies, fruits, oj, orange juice. The coffee was espresso or americano from a machine, but good, certainly not instant. They arrange a table for each set of guests, so ours was a table for five with a high chair! Yeay!

As to location, the bus #1 is virtually right out the door, taking you direct to the old town, or up to Krienz for the ferniculum to Pilatus. Just around the corner is a quiet neighborhood leading to lovely walks in the hillside and offering stunning views of the city and mountains.

Overall, these guys are great and I'd certainly stay there again!

Room Tip: Floors are quite squeaky, so be careful walking around at night if you bring little kiddos who are l...

This was our first visit to Lucerne and one of the best B&Bs that we have stayed in worldwide. Isabella greeted us and immediately showed interest in our interests, schedule and making us comfortable in HER home.
The B&B is within easy walking throughout Lucerne. We easily found the old town and all of the sites. Isabella, Andrea and Evelyne made site suggestions and reservations.
The house (which has been completely renovated by Isabella and her family was her grandmother's home. It is well taken care of in every way -- spotless, breakfast room is large enough to seat all guests at one time, quiet, patios for outdoor sitting. We stayed on the spacious top floor -- entire floor and bath were private. Bed was very comfortable, All amenities were thought of ... even enough outlets for our computer equipment.
Isabella's team is outstanding. Andrea and Evelyne welcomed us immediately. Answered all of our questions and were always available.
Excellent experience. Next time we are in Lucerne we will return to The Bed and Breakfast.

Room Tip: Top floor could be a family room with private bath.

We had a a nice weekend stay in the B and B Lucerne, This is a beautiful old home converted by the owner into a B and B. The rooms are clean and spacious. Shared bathrooms also nicely maintained. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful; bread, cheese, meats, eggs, fruits, cereal, yogurt. Little walk to town, which means you are in a nice quiet residential area. It rained almost our whole weekend there, but we enjoyed the peace and quiet of this Band B. Special thanks to Madeleine who was so accommodation to us while we were there. We really appreciated her recommendations and preparing an "early bird breakfast" for us the morning we left!

My definition of a b&b is a bed and breakfast in someone's home and to share a bit of their life. The bandb does not quite fit the definition. The owners do not seem to live on site and whilst the rooms are immaculate, comfortable, spacious and light (cosy is not the word I would use), there is no proper guest room (it is the breakfast room with a tv), even though there is a lovely garden. The ration of bathrooms/shower rooms to the number of guests is what makes me say this is more of youth hostel standards. On the second floor, we share a minuscule shower room/wc between 4 rooms (including ours, a triple) and potentially 10 people. There is access to a grand bathroom on the floor below, of course, but there are other bedrooms on that floor waiting to use it too. The cleanliness was spot on, but not everyone keeps the shower mat drying or their hair out of the shower! This, along with every step creaking and squeaking (this goes along with an old house), guests coming back at 2.00 a.m. will wake you up, however discreet they might try (or not) to be. It is harsh, because the staff is lovely, friendly and so helpful, breakfast is very nice and plentiful, the location great, some architectural details are gorgeous and you feel so welcome, but a good night sleep is not, in my view, a guarantee. Isobel assured us that they are working on it. This would be a pre-requisite for me to return to another wise lovely place run by intelligent and friendly people.

Room Tip: Avoid the second floor if you want better access to the larger bathroom.

the place is perfect. it's located in a silent street but not that far away from the crowded city centre.
the owners are a group of ladies who have been really nice to us during the stay.
the room and the bathroom were clean and the breakfast had a wide variety of food.
yes, there was no TV but that was not a problem to us.

We loved our stay at this cozy bed and breakfast. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They helped us make reservations at restaurants and provided us information about the city. Rooms are spacious, very clean, and the bed is comfortable.

We would definitely come back and stay here again!

We loved our stay is this quaint, older home. The staff was very welcoming a friendly and the place had a very homey feel. Yes, we had to share a bathroom but for the price, we didn't mind a bit. Breakfast was tasty and satisfying and at the end of a long day sightseeing, it was nice to stroll back through the quiet residential neighborhood.
