“Nice walk over the walls of Luzern”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Visiting the nine towers (actually you don't get to go inside all of them) was a great walk, and allowed us to see beautiful views of the town, plus some of the history of the city. Definitely a visit I'd recommend.

“Lots of stairs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We walked around the west end of the wall, up a asphalt path to the 3rd tower. In the heat it was a pretty good walk. You go down underground to get up the tower. The stairs are steep. The view on top is terrific. You can then walk further on the path besides a grade school to another place you can get in and take stairs up to the wall. There are three other towers you can climb from the top of the wall. The exit is by a university with many college students there. The streets are somewhat a maze. A map helped us find our way back through the old city. We really enjoyed visiting the wall and towers and would think it a must do, if you are physically able.

“impresive views”

You can climb in thee of nine towers, you have a magnificent panorama of the town and you can walk on the wide wall between the last two towers opened to the public.

“great attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

It was a nice walk along the old city wall and visiting different towers. The tower with the clock mechanism was the most interesting. While walking from one tower to another you have a possibility to look at Luzern from different perspectives.

“Very Steep & Lake View with many obstacles”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

On a cloudy day, we visited this place.
Climb: Very very steep, Even though it’s not that tall (probably same as about 10-15 floor building), but century old & big staircases made it worse. Some parts had very little headroom that you cannot stand still!
Lake/City View: All the windows at top were covered with dirty glass or metal net, making it impossible to capture in photographs. Even if windows were open, Views were just about okay.

It might be having historical significance, but from a neutral tourist perspective, views were NOT breathtaking and climbing was exhausting.
I would advice, to roam near by (rather than go to top) tower, It has beautiful lawn, trees & flowers.
