We had a triple (which was actually a four bed dorm shared between three) and we were pleased with it - it was clean, had nice linens and included a sink in the room which was handy.

The breakfast was nice and the staff were helpful both with providing information about the areas as well as allowing us to store our bags for the day.

While slightly more expensive than a hostel, you do see a reflection in the cliente - few backpackers and lots of families and older travelers. Great if you're like us and want a quiet evening (though the walls are a bit thin) but not somewhere to stay if you are looking for a party.

Free wi-fi was an added bonus...all in all, a nice place to stay in Lucerne!

First of all this hotel is 1-star and not 3-star as shown on booking.com. This is really expensive for 1-star and amenities it has. The reception closes at 10:30 pm and the guy at the reception looked drunk when we talked to him in the night.
Room is old and very small, bathroom is very old too even a private shower. Bed was not good at all, with noises around in the night, it was not at all a comfortable sleep.
Plus points - Breakfast was okay, proximity to the train station (around 15-20 min walk), free wireless around reception area.

this hotel was fine for one night. The front desk staff were very polite & helpful. The room I had requested was not available for some reason so I didn't get a private bathroom in my room, which was disappointing. I was told I was "upgraded" which I assume meant my bed was bigger because the room was not an upgrade. All of the sheets were mismatched, it was kind of a depressing room & I thought it would be quiet - until I went to bed. The room was in front of a path that the locals travel to get into/out of town -- very loud all night long. I didn't get much sleep. No fans so you have to sleep with the windows open (pretty common in Switzerland) so you're subject to the noise outside.

Breakfast was ok -- typical Swiss breakfast: croissants, yogurt, granola, juices, etc.

Overall, it was fine -- nothing was awful but if I returned to Luzern, I would stay some place a bit nicer. It was very, very affordable so I can't exactly complain - you get what you pay for!

It's still located near the old town, of walking distance, but if you do pick luzern as a base for travelling around other neighbouring cities like Bern, Zurich, you gotta walk quite a bit from the train station to the hotel (perhaps we find it especially tough as the day we checked out, it was raining quite badly and we were walking with luggages!)
We were there at peak season, so dunno if it's really value for money, but we found it the most reasonable compare with other hotels nearby at that time!
The staff was very friendly and welcoming, he was eager to introduce us with all sort of information and suggestions.
The breakfast was nice also, and the most important is that they do provide WiFi free of charge at the breakfast place.
The room is clean enough though, not so spacious but enough! The only tiny problem is the ventilation, it was right August when we stayed there, i do think a AC would be a lot more better in mid summer, even in Switzerland.
