“Excellent stay !! new and clean rooms !! very gud location !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

hi
i stayed in Hotel ambassador in feb 2013.
i had an amazing experience here.
the room were new and really clean and neat(i had room no 408)
they have a lift and u have to insert the key to go to your floor.
Inorder to reach the hotel, from the Station in Luzern you have to take the Bus no 1 to Maihof (there are two stops outside the station opp each other which have bus number 1, so be careful which one you take) and to go out at the station Löwenplatz. The hotel is on the other streetside opposite it.Next to starbucks.
so once you get down from the bus, cross the road and look at the opposite side.
Opp the hotel there is an Indian restaurant called KANCHI.
the restaurant has good food but it is not cheap. a meal for 2 can min cost you 50 70 Swiz franc.
There is also an indian restaurant called Tandoori, which is close and offers a meal for 10 swiz franc which is OK , and can be eaten if there is a money issue.
The internal city transport was free( i used the bus 4 5 time and we were never asked for a ticket or anything) so its free.
then u can see and walk down the lake there which is beautiful.
you can go to mt.titlis :http://titlis.ch/index.php?id=2 .
For Mt titlis you have to take the train to Engelberg (from platform 14, plz confirm the platform)
you can Purchase the ticket for titlis from the luzern station (floor -1) in the sbb section,
if you have the train pass for swiz you can get 50% off for Mt Titlis ticket.
so it will cost you approx 43 Euro per person. you can also buy the ticket when you reach Engelberg station,
Then you can see the Lions monument(there is nothing a big deal there though, can be skipped also)
Also u can see the Chapel bridge which is just outside the Station !!
Then if u have time you can go to the Museum of transport.
there is a museum of vehicles , but it is open only till 5.
so make sure u enter by 3 or early.
Luzern is a small city there is nothing to worry, u can roam on you own and nothing much to worry

Thank you very much for your nice Review. We are pleased you have enjoyed your stay with us. Pleased to hear about your trip to the Mount Titlis. It is especially nice now with the crisp mountain air and the snow. We wish you a good summertime.

Stayed 4 nights at the hotel in february, cannot really fault it,the rooms are lovely and big,the girls on reception are vey nice and friendly. The Breakfast is more then adaquate.
Lucern is a lovely part of the world, unfortunately i dont think i would ever afford to go back again as its so expensive.
We chose this hotel as it was a bit cheaper then the rest, but even this worked out at £140 a night.Make sure you book direct with the hotel and not through the Lucern Tourist Board as this will save you about £75..We made the mistake of booking with the tourist board(although the tourist board do include free bus travel in the city)
All in all,a lovely and very expensive stay..would need to win the lottery before i returned to the Country.

Room Tip: Try to Avoid room at front of the hotel, very noisy. The Hotel restaurant is excellent

A friend and I stayed here for a weekend. It was fantastic. Not only affordable and perfectly located, but clean and spacious. In comparison to other hotels in Europe we agreed that this one had enormous rooms. It was not overly decorated or plush but comfortable and pleasant. The staff was very friendly and the housekeeping extremely discreet. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. I would recommend this hotel to everyone! I am giving it a lower sleep quality rating because the heat was so high the first night and there was a flashing motion-triggered light in the adorable courtyard which woke me up continuously the first night. Make sure you pull both sets of curtains closed at night. My friend slept fine both nights though.

Right in the heart of Lucerne, only a few steps away from some of the main attractions, this hotel is ideally situated. The staff are friendly, the rooms modern and very clean. Tea making facilities in the rooms and the possibility to help yourselves to hot drinks in the breakfast room throughout the day - what do you want more?
The breakfast buffet offers a reasonable choice.
The rooms towards the back have a small balcony and are quieter.
I'd recommend this small but cosy place to my friends without the slightest hesitation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street.

I stayed here last September, during very hot weather, with my son and two granchildren.I have visited Switzerland on very many occasions, but it was my families first visit. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the extensive buffet breakfast and ate every evening in the Hotel restaurant,Restaurant Lapin. The food was delicious and my family loved Lucerne and especially the Lucerne Lido where we could swim in the outdoor pool and in the Lake of Lucerne itself, which was very invigorating.
I have booked to return in February to celebrate my 71st birthday!
My very best wishes to Mr Zehnder on the continued success of his hotel.

First of all the hotel door is only open until 11, after that you got to open the door with the key they provided.
Room is small, which was fine for us, but the bed is too small for 2 persons. Priced about fr 180 per night, a bit pricey for the room size
Standard service, kettle is not available in room, but they allow you to use the restaurant hot water, but it is not open fir 24 hours.
Located nearby shopping area and only 5-10 mins away by bus fr the main train station. Many restaurants nearby, just 8 mins away by walking to the statue of the dying lion.
Lucerne lake is also only 10 mins away by walking.

thank you for your feedback. We are sorry about the missing kettle in the room. Due to fire regulations in both of our hotels we are not providing kettle in the room. However our guests can access the Restaurant to get coffee and Tea or hot Water from 06:00 till midnight.
We hope to be able to welcome you on another occasion.

me and my hysband travelled this october to swizerland and one of our destinations was lucerne.
We arrived at afternoon and lucerne is a big city.
i have read some reviews here and wrote down the adress of the hotel and it was a great idea.
Lucerne is a busy city so unless you book in advance it's good to have a list of hotels.
Christina at the reception was very helpful and proffesional and agreed to show us the room before checking-in.She was very nice and gave us a room in the upper floor so we couldn't here any noise from the street and that was a surprise.
the room and bathroom very clean. the hotel is just a walking distance from the attractions! and that was a big plus.
the only disadvantage is that the hotel doesn't have any parking, we had to park away and bring the ticket in order to have 10% discount.
i must say that Christina was very thoughtful when we got back at night and we asked for coffee and it was free of charge!
Breakfast was great too.

thank you for your nice review and very good comments. We are pleased you had a good stay with us. We will pass on the comments about Cristina to herself. I am sure she will be happy to read it. concerning the Parking we have in between now negociated a fixed price of CHF 25.- per 24 hours. This is very convenient to our clients since the client can move the car in and out as much as you like for that fixed price. Hopefully you can see us another time.
