“Perfect Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Just came back from a business stay at this wonderful hotel in Lucerne.

The GM has changed but THE HOTEL still provides the best service you could expect (the Director was also very kind to introduce himself personally). Early arrival at 11.00, the room was ready. A personalized note from the Manager was waiting in the room. Quick fresh-up and off to Zürich (3mins walk from the Lucerne Train Station - 45mins trip to Zürich). After several meetings in the financial capital, I took the train back ang got to the hotel very quickly. As I got there, a hand-written note was hanging outside my door saying: "The DO NOT DISTURB sign was on (damn I forgot to swith it off!) therefore we we'ren't able to do the turn down. Have a lovely stay and do not bother to call for any further needs". Great stuff. Took a nap in the HUGE and incredibly comfortable bed, had a shower and then off to dinner at "La Cucina", a parent restaurant. Before leaving I made sure I filled the Breakfast card for the following morning. Got back from a memorable night, fell asleep right away. 7.15 AM the alarm was on, 7.30 sharp (as requested on the card on the previous day) my breakfast was ready: fresh squeezed OJ, large choice of bread, jams, butter, eggs & bacon, jogurt, meet, cheese, fruits, cereals. Perfect start of the day. Checking out at 8.00 AM, they never forget a small bottle of water for your trip home.

Very careful, Claudia is brilliant, tiny little details make the difference here. Plus, the design is great, the room is warm and you really couldn't find a better place in Lucerne. Bam Bou (the restaurant) is wonderful, shame I was invited somewhere else for dinner. Next time in Lucerne? Too easy: The Hotel!

“Great Stay with Wife and Child”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Spent 5 nights at The Hotel with my wife and 2 year old. From a parents perspective, following are my reviews:

1) The entire hotel is nicely made. Entrance is a bit dark, but nice.
2) I stayed in the Penthouse Suite Room. The balcony is amazing, and gives the room a lot of lighting. The location is central however quite, which is great.
3) I have stayed in many hotels in Europe. Seems like open bathrooms are a new trend. As much my wife likes me, I dont think she likes to hear me take a crap. A bit awkward with kids.
4) The location is perfect for Kids. There is a park 20 steps away with a great play area. My kid enjoyed the swings and atmosphere.
5) McDonalds, Burger King, restaurants and train station is just 5-10 minute walks.
6) The room service and hotel attendants are great. They even provided us with umbrellas, maps and slippers. Cant get this service anywhere else.

“great botique hotel in Lucerne”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

This hotel is wonderfully funky- from the movie posters on the ceiling, to the black painted walls, to the DVD in the room, to the giant bathroom with electric shutters. Comfortable beds. Great styling (the closets are on swivels and appear as freestanding pedestals until they are turned). Wonderful restaurant both for breakfast and dinner. Good location, and very helpful people at the front desk and serving in the restaurant. Parking is dicey there but we were lucky enough to get a metered spot right in front of the hotel. And once we were parked, public transport was great.

“Dark and different”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012 via mobile

A bizarre experience. I arrived at midnight on a business trip and finding the entrance and then someone to check me in at reception was the first challenge. Once at my room finding enough light to unpack and get settled was even tougher.

However, once used to it the hotel grows on you.

Breakfast was fantastic. The room is very trendy. It's not often you have a scene from an art house movie on the ceiling and the DVD in your room to watch! Yet to view it, but may try tomorrow.

This is certainly not your average chain hotel.

Book it for an experience.

“Amazing Boutique Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

We really enjoyed our stay here. The servive was very professional. The staff try to please at every turn. Especially the manager.

The rooms are deco and elegantly decorated. The bathroom was very adequate. Full of all the necessary toiletries..

We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Varied and first class. The resturants are more than we expected.

The location is near the train station. Very good to get around. The reception gave us very good assistance to get around the city.

Overall we had a very exciting experience and plan to return.
