“Excellent stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

Excellent hotel located near to the railway station of Luzern, about 5 mins walking distance. staffs are friendly and attentive, good job! We were upgraded to a deluxe room, huge room size and wonderful shower facilities, we enjoyed a lot during our stay at Renaissance. Didnt take their breakfast as CHF30 is quite pricey, but dont worry as Coop and Migros are just around the corner at the main station, you could easily grab a sandwich or salad. All the tourstic spots are easily accessible by foot, such as the chapel bridge, lion monument etc. Overall, i would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay at Luzern (with free wifi).

Room Tip: some rooms could be quite small so be careful when you select the room.

I stayed in the hotel for one night and it was amazing. The hotel is conviniently located near the station and many tourist spots are nearby. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms are big and equipped.
The most amazing feature of the hotel is the staff. Right from the check in to helping us with restuarents and directions they helped us .
While checking out, we made the payment by credit card and due to some error on the part of the bank, we were charged twice. The manager of the hotel was very nice and friendly and assured us of any assistance required.
The entire experience was amazing.

Beautiful hotel just across the bridge from the old town. Modern, business type hotel so not the normal "charm" of a local place, but it was actually kind of nice after two weeks of quaint places. Excellent bed and linens. Very clean room and bathroom. Large shower with rain-style head. Nice towels.

Parking in their lot or on the street for half the price. The hotel sells you the parking ticket that you place in your window. Even on a busy Saturday afternoon, we were able to find parking quickly just down the street from the hotel.

Very nice staff and large bowl of Tobblerone chocolates at the reception desk! And free internet, usually unheard of in this type of hotel.

I usually spend a good deal of time choosing where we stay, but picked this hotel quickly because we wanted to use our Marriott points. So, it was an nice surprise when we found this charming, older hotel a quick walk from the train station, and had a very helpful and pleasant check-in. Our room was comfortable and quiet, with a very large and modern bathroom. We found that we were right near many tourist spots, including the Chapel Bridge and it's surrounding group of fun restaurants which were perfect for a drink and lunch or dinner along the river. A very pleasant two night weekend stay at the beginning of our trip. One tip: the walk from the train station is even easier if you go through the underground mall that runs underneath the station. Also, if you are looking for a drugstore, a grocery store or snack, - really everything you'd want is down there.

The Renaissance Lucerne was a hidden gem. I stayed there for one night with my husband before we go to Zurich. Although the lobby was very small, but the service was super. During check-in, the staff Melanie was extremely helpful in suggesting travel routes and restaurants. We even got upgraded to a junior suite. Without needing to say, the suite was 5-star with new deco, Nespresso machine, very comfy bed, a sitting area to watch TV, etc.

The hotel is located on a main street, only 5-min walk from the train station. If you don’t want to pay for the breakfast in the hotel, there are actually a lot of choices around that area. It’s also very close to the sightseeing areas. We didn’t even have to take any bus/train during our 2-day tour there.

It’s an excellent hotel where I will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Bahnhof and Lake as well as the famed Covered Bridges. The price may be common for Lucerne but 325 CHF a night seems steep to me. Room is nice and the 1st floor has a separate area to relax and have a coffee. The lobby staff is very friendly and helpful. Restaurants are very pricey. We stayed 3 days and don't regret it but we would probably try and find something less expensive even if we had to walk 15 minutes to the major attractions.

Room Tip: A nice feature is that when taking a shower, the mirror fogs everywhere except over the sink, which...

Dear Jim

Many thanks for staying with us as well as for your review.

Lucerne is quite pricey, regardless of hotels or restaurants. However, we do our best to offer a good value for money to our customers.

And in the off-season we offer some great packages and promotions!

Looking forward to welcoming you again

I've stayed in this hotel many times on business, and if you are looking for value and location, this hotel can't be beat. I love the staff there. The rooms are modern, but retain some old European charm. I can't wait to return!
