The Glacier Garden in Lucerne, adjacent to the Lion Monument, was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. There is, of course, the garden itself which is fascinating. All of the material and signposts are in English which was great. There's an informative glacier exhibit, multiple reliefs of the mountains of Switzerland and the glacier evolution, some antiques, and a tower that gives a lovely view over Lucerne. $12/adult; $9/child (I think up to age 16). Good value. I don't know if it can be avoided but there was a school group and a tour group in the museum at the same time, which made parts of it very crowded.
