Me and my wife were in a mood for indian food while in Luzern. We found GourmIndia by searching our Garmin GPS.
Let me start with pros: We were happy to find out that the Restaurant (waiters and menu) accommodated english speakers very well, not common in Switzerland. The Atmosphere and design of the restaurant were nice and relaxing. The menu had a significant variety of entrees and a buffet. We opted for the menu, where we selected the lentil soup, lamb baryani and chicken masala and of course the complimentary and delicious thin bread and dip. The food arrived and was well presented. The taste was great and the portions were acceptable. I liked the fact the manager(twice) and several waiters came by to ask if everything was OK.
Cons: Dogs were allowed in the restaurant! I'm surprised, for hygienic reasons, that pets were allowed in the restaurant. I understand the need for service pets. But this was not the case . A party was seated next to our table with a large dog.which made my wife extreamly uncomfortable. The other issue, the resturaunt did not offer Halal meat (meat slaughtered according to Islamic procedures). I liked that waiter brought it to our attention, but we are accostomed to Indian resturaunts serving Halal meat in the areas we have traveled to. The evaluation of the food and atmoshphere were lowered to 4 for these two issues.
Overall i recommend the resturaunt for it's food and it's atmosphere.
