“Poor Main Course”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

The starter (Prawn cocktail) was great, but disaster for the main course (I chose a gluten free flan) which was like eating cardboard. (Probably my fault for choosing it but you have been warned.) Desert was great.

Hotel give you a 10 Franc voucher, so it made it inexpensive. Probably better places in town but there were great views across the lake.

“Disappointing!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Great location, view and wine list, but unfortunately the restaurant kitchen just doesn't take advantage. Complicated and overpriced 4-5 gang menu. Out of a party of 4, 2 returned their main courses as inedible. One, a supposed chicken tikka masala, wasn't anything close to a masala, with tasteless chicken covered in an italian-swiss style tomato sauce. The other a filet mignon instead of tender and juicy was tough and dry. The headwaiter did nothing to offer any alternatives. A specialty dessert mousse with some hard green paste smeared on the plate tried desperately to be a gourmet presentation. Let's hope they improve!

“Good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Not a huge choice but very good tasty food and should find something to please all. The shrimp cocktail and the horse steak are excellent.

“Don't miss the Sunset Bar at the Lake in summer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Great snacks & drinks (charbroiled Burgers and tropical cocktils last time I was there). Pricing is slightly higher than average, but the ambiance and the crowd at the outdoor "Sunset Bar" make well up for it. More a place for friendly locals than tourists, so please behave ;)

“Restaurant Review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

We did not stay at the hotel but stayed next door (up the hill) at Brienzersee Hotel and they highly recommended that we go to Hotel Seeburg for dinner. We followed the path for 2 minutes from our hotel down to the front door of the hotel/ restaurant and Riggenberg ferry landing stage. We were there on opening night for the 2013 season in early May. Was not very busy this night but could see needing reservations in the busy season. Very friendly people, wonderful atmosphere and exceptional food. Beautiful lakeside restaurant, full view of the lake and mountains. Can not wait to go back there.
