You will find this restaurant at the top of the hill in the 'old town' - it's worth a visit.
It was about 9.30 in the evening when we stumbled on this gem and I was beginning to think that we would never eat, let alone find anything good.
Demi Lune Cafe was full with patrons enjoying a late meal or an evening drink on the seated pavement outside.
We spied a waiter taking burgers to a table and were sold. We hadn't gone our for a burger, but the portions appeared very generous and they looked good.
We decided to eat inside because everyone sitting outside was smoking.
The restaurant was simple and felt very Mediterranean, we were warmly welcomed and asked politely what language we wanted our menu in - I did try, but my French let me down!
The menu was simple, with four or five selections per section and was averagely priced by Genevan standards.
I ordered the Penne pasta with creamy pesto sauce, spinach, tomato and pine nuts - it was huge and very tasty and my husband ordered the 'single' cheese and bacon burger with fries. His burger was smaller than he'd anticipated but was marvellously cooked and very tasty given the 'house spices'. He was very happy with the choice and only just managed to finish it.
With a large beer and large bottle of sparkling mineral water we paid 49chf.
I'd recommend a visit for attentive service, good sized, fresh food even late into the evening.
