You can't argue with the al fresco setting, looking down the park over Lake Geneva. The food itself is OK, in a First Picturebook of Masterchef cooking techniques kind of way - a smudge of tasteless pea puree here, a huge ladle of tasteless foam there. My starter of a tricolore would have been been better if the mozzarella sandwiched between the two halves of a tomato ball was not ice cold. For some reason, there was a glass of flavourless ice crystals (runaway granita?) in the middle of the plate; I'd have preferred more basil dressing and less polar ice cap. The turbot main was perfectly OK, but at CHF50ish, it should be better than that. The caesar salad in the brik, which annoyed someone below, actually seemed quite well presented to me but Groovy Chick was not impressed with the egg ice-cream that accompanied it. Decent, if not exceptional service (although impressed they kept our table with a view for us when we were 30 mins late). I'd need another half-price voucher before I'd consider heading back. GC suggests, quite wisely, that the thing to do is to have a drink there and then bring a picnic to have in the park, enjoying the same view as from the restaurant. In fact, why not just bring your own drink, too?
