“Top fondu!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013 via mobile

We went here specifically for a fondu meal, as our daughter loves them and was desperate to go for one. This restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge and had a mixed clientele of locals and visitors. Located in the Old Town, close to the Cathedral, It had a great atmosphere and was packed, so the lesson here is to make a reservation to avoid disappointment.
We chose two different cheese fondu dishes, both excellent and our service was extremely good. The Swiss wines were interesting, if rather pricey.
Having previously tried Edelweiss Restaurant for fondu, we have to say that Les Armures is far more authentic and less of a tourist experience, but it does cost a bit more.

“Very widely frequented but still worth recommending”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

This is a traditional very well established restaurant in Geneva's' Old Town, very near to the Cathedral. Apart from fondue, raclette and similar Swiss specials, it also serves very good pasta, and some salads, meat and fish dishes, as well as game in season. The menu is pleasantly short and indeed everything is freshly prepared. Vegetarians are catered for. "Simple and good" seems to be the byword. The service is first rate, there is a good wine list as well as a selection of open wines. We took the precaution of booking, which I strongly advise as the place fills up very quickly in the evenings. The customers are composed of a mixture of natives and tourists, which makes for a very pleasant ambiance. Although located on the premises of a five star hotel of the same name , the restaurant is reasonably priced and it is excellent value for money.

“Great place and very good service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

This resturant is in the old part of town and the weather was just great to have a great outdoor lunch. We were lucky, cause this is a very busy place and we found a table and the whole experience there was awesome, from the service to the presentation and quality of the food our time there was simply great. The price was right(considering swiss prices) and we loved the attention to details by the staff.
Pleasant experience

“Awful!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013 via mobile

Appalling! These folks must be resting on the laurels of their 5 star hotel because the food and service were embarrassingly poor. Because we arrived without a reservation we were banished to their version of Siberia....a very hot dungeon In the basement where gratefully we were far from the maddening crowds of tourists who were there for the traditional racclette and fondue. We are told that their traditional Swiss fare is good, but their veal dish and their seasonal game specials were awful....to call them tasteless would be a kindness. The only redeeming part of the evening was a bottle of their local red wine which was excellent although quite expensive. Stay away if you want anything other than fondue.

“Great Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We went here for a business dinner. The Old Town location is charming. The waiter spoke excellent English which was helpful. I had the perch which was great. Very Swiss. Loved it.
