“Good value for Geneva”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

If you are traveling to Geneva (for business or private) you know it's going to be a hurt for your budget! Hotels are expensive and trust me trying to find a bargain will most often translate in a sleazy mouldy hotel with French standard.. not a nice experience.

Novotel in my opinion is the best you can get for the "mid price" fascia in town.

A great location in the city center, footsteps from lake or station (boarder of red light district but this is not a problem in Geneva reality is this is one of the nightlife neighborhoods of the city for locals and expats) - this really translates in many good bars and restaurants at your doorstep.

Hotel is clean, fresh, stylish with comfortable decent size rooms. Good service on check in/out.

Stayed for one night in an executive room after receiving an upgrade. The room was clean and well appointed. There was no noise as I was on the seventh floor and slept well. When I asked for an iron, it was delivered quickly to my room and was clean. The hotel is in easy walking distance to lake Geneva, the train station and the city centre. The check in and out was efficient and friendly. My only negative comment is that, like many hotels in Geneva, the breakfast is expensive at CHF 30. Otherwise a good stay in a nice hotel.

Room Tip: High floor

I stayed at the Novotel Genève Centre at the end of May with family for one night during our tour of Switzerland. Here are a few observations of our stay:
1) Pricy stay considering it's a Novotel (CHF 340 per room per night),
2) Nice and accommodating staff,
3) OK breakfast but a bit pricey (CHF 28 per person),
4) Good location but a bit dodgy at night (hotel is in the middle of Genève’s red-light district),
5) Free Wi-Fi in rooms and lobby.

Room Tip: If you're not interested in a buffet breakfast, choose the "express" option for CHF 10...

Stayed in this hotel in May 2012. Good location as just a few blocks from the main train station and within easy walk to the lake. Room was very comfortable, clean and light. Tea and coffee making facilities. Some great restaurants and cafes withing walking distance. Just across the road there are men selling drugs and one street down is an in your face red light district. Some noise during the night due to the intersting social aspect of the area.I would certainly stay here again however my tip is go out to dinner early and get back to the hotel at a reasonable hour.

My 21 year old son and I shared a double room and were impressed by the good light from the floor to ceiling windows and the very stylish Interior decor and amenity of the room overall. The Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful and the Hotel is well positioned to the old Geneve with numerous resturants close by. The Hotel is located in the Red Light district but this doesnt seem to create a problem from a safety or comfort propsective when walking around at night as it possibly would in many "Anglo " cultures such as in Australia.
Yes, I would stay here again and recomend this Hotel.

This hotel is a "typical" Novotel that you find everywhere with decent space in the room and clean. The restaurant is limited and breakfast is average; the gym is rather small but fits the purpose. However just in front of this location there are guys selling drugs; do not seem dangerous however feels uncomfortable (at least to me). Avoiding this drug selling scenario I took an alternate street (towards the train station) and to my surprise the red light district starts 50 meters from the hotel. Believe me, the offering in the red light district is 24 hours!
