“Interesting Roman and church history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Extensively excavated site from Roman times onward. Great care has been shown in providing visitors with examples of how the site usage has changed over the centuries.

“Historical wonder”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

We walked around the old town of Geneva shortly after arrival in geneva and happened on this archaeological site. We were in town on a public holiday and the site was one of the few open attractions, so we decided to visit. They charge CHF 8.00 per adult and children aged 7-16 and pensioners pay CHF 4.00. Open Mon-Sun 10am-5pm. The site is apparently one of the largest of its kind in Europe and provides insight in how Christianity was established in the region. Archaeological finds and remains dating back to the 4th century can be viewed. A truly breathtaking expereince. An audio tour device is provided to each person which greatly assists in understanding the exhibition.

“Interesting historical remains, including human...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Good access to areas of exploration and discoveries below the cathedral. This spot was a place of honor all the way back to prehistory, as the headless skeleton of a chieftain attests! Walls. columns and mosaics up through Roman times. The audio guide is very good.
