If you enjoy seeing basilicas all around Europe then why not visit this as well. And while you are there, go down below and see the history of the ruins found underneath the church many years after...it is so interesting. Lovely walk up the hill to the Cathedral or there is a small mini (local) bus heading that way too..

“Very reformed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

Nice place to see, Calvin came here before (you can see the chair he used to sit on). Don't miss to climb up the towers (some 300 steps, I think) for a great view over Geneva.

“why fundamentalists shouldn't have churches”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

As someone who treasures art and architecture, I feel great pain when I see ideologues of whatever kind destroy timeless art. In our era, there are still plenty of examples, as was done to Bamyan in Afghanistan. What the Calvinists did to the art of St. Pierre was truly tragic. What is left is a wonderful structure stripped of its precious art. Fortunately, the stained glass windows were preserved, but you must go to the Geneva Art Museum to see the originals

“Going to the top”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

Nothing much to visit inside but going on the top of the tower on a sunny clear day is a most with an amazing view. Quite few steps to reach the top but the view is really amazing.

“hidden gem !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

A beautiful Cathedral with a gorgeous Lady Chapel hidden away ! Well worth the visit. Is a lot bigger than you think with beautiful carvings and stain glass windows.
