“Typical Ibis comfort in newly opened hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We had a pleasant one-night stay at this new (opened in spring of 2014) Ibis-Styles hotel. Our room friendly colored and furnished room on the backside of the hotel was extremely quiet. Friendly and helful front desk staff. Breakfast is still served (July 2104) at a pub next door, but will be served in the hotel in the near future. Get your free travel card for public transportation at the desk. The elevator can be oparted only with the room key card. Be sure to press the "0" button in the elevator to get down to the lobby; the "RC" button leaves the elevator motionless and risks to provide you some scary moments.
We will definitely return to this conveniently located (just across the main railroad station, ner the lake and town center) hotel for any short-term stay in Geneva.

Very good location (near central train station) with brand new rooms. Most of the attractions are within walking distance. During our stay (in april) the restaurant was not yet ready - we ate breakfast in the restaurant next.

This is a new hotel, in an excellent location, just across the road from the station (If you’re looking at Google maps, it’s on the site of the old Best Western Astoria). The hotel is very safe – you need your room key to activate the lift or access the stairs from reception. Sound insulation is very good, so there are no problems with traffic noise. We had a large room with a smart ensuite, though the sliding door to the ensuite had not been fitted correctly – as a result, there was a gap of at least 6 cm when the door was supposedly shut. In the bedroom, Wifi reception was excellent at all times, and the choice of TV channels was enormous. On the downside, a bedsite light was faulty, and not replaced 36 hours after it had been reported. It’s difficult to comment on the breakfast as, although the hotel opened in March, the hotel has not yet got around to organising breakfast. We were given vouchers for the joint next door, a distinctly grotty pub, although the food was actually quite good. In the hotel, there are no tea making facilities in the room, but the receptionist allowed us to fill our thermos from hot water in what will eventually be the breakfast area (So bring your own mug and tea bags). The receptionist was really helpful and efficient, and quite capable of dealing with two customers simultaneously. Altogether, if the hotel can get around to fixing its faults it will be really excellent. Meanwhile, as at the beginning of June, it’s a work in progress.

This hotel is in a great central location. The rooms are clean and quiet, which ever side of the building you are in. Free WiFi and a decent 27"iMac in the lobby for the use of the guests. Breakfast is currently in the pub next door but that should change soon. Staff are helpful and friendly. Make sure you get your free Public Transport card for the duration of your stay. This will also get you a decent discount on the -2 and -3 levels of Parking under the train station. Just make sure that you show your parking ticket and the Public Transport card to the man at the Parking Caisse desk to get your discount. He is there 24/7 (not the same guy, obviously !) Book early to get a decent price.

The Ibis Styles Hotel is located opposite the Railway Station and only a short walk from the Bus Station and Lake Geneva. The renovated Hotel is very nice and our room was excellent although a little small. The staff were helpful and at present breakfast is taken in the Hotel/Pub next door.
We would recommend this Hotel for a short stay in Geneva.

The hotel opened in March after a thorough renovation and is located opposite the train station. My modern room was on the fifth floor facing the street but was very quiet. The double bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, light and had a good shower, but rather small. Staff was very friendly and helpful Breakfast was included in the rate I paid but was served in Hotel Astoria/Britannia Pub next to the hotel. In June a breakfast room will open in the hotel itself.
Geneva is an expensive city to stay but given the rate I paid, the location, close to the railway station and in walking distance of Lake Geneva and the old city, this hotel is an excellent option.

Tip: If you arrive in Geneva by plane there are ticket machines in the arrival hall for a free train ride to Geneva.

The hotel is fine - clean, newly renovated, convenient location. Really, it's exactly as you'd expect for a hotel at this level.

My major gripe is that I was charged twice for the stay by the receptionist (I didn't know this until I got home) and so far have had absolutely no luck getting a refund, or even found anyone at Ibis who is remotely interested in helping. The people you get through to on the phone tell you to send an email to guest relations and guest relations don't respond to email, which is very frustrating.

So the hotel was nice enough, but not worth double the amount of money they usually charge for a stay.
