“Good lake location but needs better soundproofing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2012

By Geneva standards a very reasonable choice in these days of limited business budgets in a city of sky-is-the-limit possibilities. Rooms are clean, bathrooms very well maintained but....and there is a but the layout of rooms mean that your neighbours bathroom is almost in your room-you will be aware of their movements.
Acceptable breakfasts however no tea/coffee facilities and no room service after 21,00 so after late meetings where you may have some work to do in your room-not a good option unless you plan a picnic.

Room Tip: choose a higher floor for less street noise

It’s located very close to international organisations and walking distance to the Geneva Lake, and about 15/20 minutes walk to Cornavin train station (pedestrian street, buses to many places in the city, shops, etc.); bus No. 1 stops about 150 m of the hotel and takes you to Cornavin (about seven stops). The hotel provides you free of charge with a public transport card for the length of the stay, which allows you to make use of all buses within a certain ratio in Geneva.
The hotel has been recently renovated. I’ve stayed many times in this hotel (presently I stay once a week), and I have to say that it meets of my needs. I always rent one of the two Jr. Suites that the hotel proposes. The Jr. Suite that I always stay is quite large, it has two separate areas and three little balconies (one in the sleeping area, one in the work area, and one in the sitting area) with a great view to the Lake. The room is tastefully furnished in a modern style. Very comfortable mattress and pillows, impeccable sheets and towels, and, it goes without saying that the cleaning fully meets the Swiss standards: SPOTLESS. Continental breakfast served from 7.00 am to 10.00 am is very good, and the Restaurant to have lunch or dinner, though it doesn’t offer a large variety of dishes, is excellent. Taking into account that hotels in Switzerland are very expensive, I think that the price of the Eden is correct and it offers the best value for money. Breakfast is included in the price and WI-FI in public areas as well as in the room is free of charge. Last but not least, staff are very professional, helpful, friendly, bilingual and some of them are trilingual. All in all, I definitively recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Try to rent a room with view to the Geneva Lake

I viist Geneva twice a year and have done for a while now, I got fed up with the overpriced stuck-up Hotels near the Palais so I started looking for other hotels in the area and luckily for me I found the Eden, I have stayed here three times now.

Location is perfect if you are viisitng the Palais or Organizations in the area nearby, service is great and the rooms are a good size and very comfortable with everything you need. Wireless was free of charge and worked well, the hotel also gives you a travel card, all free of charge which in Geneva is hard to find! Another useful thing is all Taxi drivers know the Eden so no chance of getting lost.

And the biggest positve of all is the price, for Geneva this place is a total bargain!

Negatives: I think every room should have it's own iron instead of a communal ironing room!

Look forward to staying here again next year.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor as it's quieter! Also if you need to do lots of ironing get a room on the th...

We stayed one night in late August 2011, arriving from the US to start a 2-week trip. I've stayed here several times before in the early 2000s and had a very good experience.

The hotel has a lovely breakfast with excellent coffee. The staff speak English very well, and are ready to give directions, recommendations, and helpful advice. The rooms are very clean, well kept, and have plenty of room. Beds are comfortable. The hotel is just across the street from the park along Lake Geneve, and a nice long walk to the old town center. An efficient bus line runs right in front.

This is a great little hotel! Staff are wonderful..... food is superb. It's one of those rare places where you can be on your own and not feel out of place (that's a huge plus for us solo travellers). Close to the transport links (buses, boats and trams are free for hotel residents in Geneva for duration of stay). TIP! walk out the door, cross the main street, go into the Bon Repos Park and find the little taxi-boat jetty. Jump on the boat and cross the lake. Then take a trolley-bus into town, then from Central Station take the tram back to hotel (you can do this in an hour)... and it's all free with your travel card from the hotel.

Room Tip: Go for higher floors - it's quieter

A pleasant little hotel with every amenity you would expect. It would probably be a 3 star but because it was so reasonably priced it gets 4. Staff were nice and helpful, rooms clean, good shower... My only criticism would be the restaurant which served good but bland food and there's some much better restaurants nearby.

Let's face it, most people don't go to Geneva as a holiday destination. Even the Swiss choose to live elsewhere. Sixty percent of the population are foreigners. It's a public service town and once you get outside the old town it's pretty boring. Assuming you are going there on business in the UN district then the Eden hotel is a good choice. You can walk to all the main UN buildings from it, and there are buses and trams close by for the short trip to the centre of town. The prices will suit your expense account and the rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The hotel has the advantage that is the only building in the area that does not make you want to vomit when you look at it, so it's quite a good feeling to come back to it at the end of the working day. You can open the window for some fresh air, and it's a short walk to the lake foreshore where you can stroll and pretend that you are somewhere else.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel as they are away from the street noise. Some rooms look onto...
