The Manotel looks superb on the website, and it is indeed very stylish (the 7th floor was being refurbished whilst I was there).

However, the service was not great - I couldn't get the gym door key to work, the front desk staff took over 10 mins to check me in as they kept answering the phone (I was always taught to deal with the person standing in front of you waiting, not the phone calls).

Breakfast was okay - they were winding down service when I went, and I ended up hunting out my own coffee. The hot food was also not fresh. It was pricey at 30 CHF.

The room was very pleasant, and had a nice comfy bed and decent international TV. There was no shower, which was annoying. There was also no coffee maker, to encourage people to use room service.

I would stay elsewhere next time.

I travel frequently to Geneva and was positively surprised by the Manotel Royal. The staff was quite friendly and the service was very responsive. The room I had on the 7th floor was just recently refurbished but the smell did not bother to much. The size of the room was larger than all the Hotels in this price class I stayed before. Eventhough the Hotel is close to the train tracks there is no disturbing noise. Overall, I would stay there again. For this price it's a correct place.

my fiancee and I stayed for a week. the hotel upgraded us for free after we missed our flights and lost our luggage. They completely took over contacting the airport to find our luggage and when it turned up they brought it up to our room. Our room was amazing and quiet. We were right next to the train tracks but it wasn't loud at all. The hotel is an easy walk to the train station. The restaurant in the hotel was amazing. The food was just about the best food i've tasted. and the people were very helpful. everyone spoke english too which helped a lot for us bc our french was extremely basic.

Geneva is also a nice city to stay in. We traveled as fair as Zurich and it was only a 3.5 hour train ride. the trains are very comfortable and easy to figure out and are ALWAYS on time.

We would highly recommend staying at Royal!!

The hotel is located right in front of a Tram stop, and like all Geneva hotels, they give you a free Tram/Buspass upon your arrival.
The front desk is extremely helpful, and in MOST locations in the hotel you get access to their free WiFi, which is nice.
I go to this hotel rather regularly, and while we get a "reduced" rate, it's still expensive by any means. However, this IS Geneva, and the hotel is average priced. If you get in the "new" wing, you will have very small but nicely appointed room, many with kitchenettes. The older wing has larger rooms, also nicely appointed. Most rates don't include breakfast anymore, and the 31 CHF breakfast simply isn't worth it.
It is my preferred hotel in Geneva because of its location and friendly service.
