We've stayed at Sagitta twice now, Augut 2003 and 20004, for the Fetes de Geneve. The hotel is not the most central but is easily accessible by tram from the main shopping area and a 20 minute walk from the Jet. The staff are welcoming, friendly and speak English, though they appreciate an attempt at French. This is a hotel residence so all rooms have kitchenettes as well as ensuite bathroom/shower rooms. The rooms are huge and although they don't do non-smoking rooms the cleaning is so efficient that this is not a problem. The format of most rooms seems to be a small lobby area (each room has its own doorbell) with wardrobes and bathroom off, then a very large main room (bigger than our lounge at home!) with twin beds (which have slip covers and serve as seating units during the day), coffee table, dining table and chairs, wall unit, TV and kitchenette area. All rooms have air conditioning. The kitchenettes are basic and lack a kettle (is this a continental thing?) but there is a sink, fridge and electic hotplates. The bathrooms are a good size, and well equipped (ours even had a bidet). Everything is spotlessly clean. Breakfasts are served in the bright downstairs breakfast room - coffee and tea is served to the table, everything else is self-service. There are breads (and a toaster), croissants, jam, salami, cheese, eggs, yogurt, fruit juice, white cloths on the tables - a lovely way to start the day. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel - just remember to lift up the lid in the boxes behind the beds or you'll wonder where your pillows are!
