Should have listened to the traveler earlier who warned of incompentant staff.

My Experience: My flight from ORD was canceled in a day when < 50 flights were canceled, pushing my arrival in Geneva back one day. I immediately phoned Hotel Epsom, and was assured by the young woman at the desk that my Sunday night reservation was good for Monday night at the same rate. "No problem", she said. Upon arrival, the reception told me that the Monday rate was the rack, or full, rate. After some considerable discussion, he did knock that down slightly. Given the time and a conference in town I had little choice but to accept their offer, and ended up paying 2.6 TIMES what I had thought I was to pay. I was still out a sizable sum as I had two rooms for my family.
Reception, though courteous, was repeatedly confused, thinking I'd booked via a travel site I did not use, and showed little willingness to accept responsibility for the situation they put my family in.
From this experience I conclude that either reception is very poorly trained, or they cannot be trusted, or both.
In short, you may get a good quality hotel at a bargain. If anything goes wrong, they will clean out your wallet w/ a smile on their face.

Stayed at the Epsom for one week through work, so had no choice or expectations - although was provided with the booking detail of "Superior Lake View Room". To be honest, this description wasn't exactly appropriate - the room was very tired looking (but still tidy); and my lake view was quite small.

However all in all was a good hotel in a good location - 5 mins walk to the train station, and 2 blocks back from the lake (along the end just past the hotels, so a bit of a walk to the old town). Got a free travel card which was helpful - for trains etc. Bathroom a good size, and the room wasn't huge, but it also wasn't tiny. Good storage, nice to have bed turned down and a sweet; and free wifi (although quite slow at peak times). Nice quiet road also.

In general a decent stay, but just not amazing. Not sure what the norm is for hotel rates in Geneva, but at 270 CHE a night it seemed a lot for what I got, but it was quite good and comfortable.

A friend and myself stayed two nights at this hotel recently. We read up all the reviews on Trip Advisor and decided it was one of the better hotels to stay with. We were not disappointed.
On our arrival we were greated by very friendly and professional hotel staff and were shown to our rooms. We thought the room was very clean and very lovely and the bathroom was also of a high standard. Quite small but totally what you would expect for a standard room in a four star hotel.
The hotel provided a rather lovely evening turn down service with very yummy chocolates/sweets each night. They also gave us a voucher for 50% of breakfast the next morning in the hotel restaurant. The breakfast was quite yummy and catered for most appetites. They also gave out free travel cards for weekend travel around Geneve on the trams, buses or trains.
The only down side to our room was that we were placed on the street side of the hotel and it was very noisy with traffic from the road below and the rubbish bin guys on the Monday morning. However, this didn't bother us too much and the hotel was generally quiet.
We didn't eat our main meals at the hotel but rather chose to explore the city and be adventurous so cannot comment on the meals at the hotel other than breakfast.
On leaving we were asked to pay a City Tax which we had never heard of but it was only about 7 swiss francs so weren't too bothered, however would have been nice to have been pre-warned about it.
All in all we had a great weekend away and would totally recommend this hotel for a weekend stay.

We were looking for a hotel not too far from the railway station but near enough to walk to the main sights and the Epsom was perfect for this. About a 10 minute walk from the station, the position doesn't give you the best views in the world, but the quiet street helps make sure you get a good nights sleep; unlike some of the more expensive central hotels. A shortish walk from the hotel and you are at the lake, so ideal for sightseeing. The room was very clean with some nice touches such as the turndown service with chocolates which was nice for this class of hotel. Reception was extemely pleasant and helpful. We hadn't booked breakfast but took advantage of a 50% offer.A good choice was available but service was a bit chaotic and I had to keep asklng for coffee, cutlery etc. All in all we were very pleased and would definately recommend it.
