“Clean, comfortable, understated - typically Swiss”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in this hotel for only two nights as we made our way from France to Italy.

Pros:
Very comfortable bed
Excellent bathroom
Quiet
Friendly reception staff
Fairly close to Old Geneve
Tram stops are fairly close by

Cons:
Not really any good restaurants that are close by, although this isn't really the fault of the hotel

A good place to rest up after a long flight . Very comfortable bed with quality bedding and towels. Clean bathroom, good water pressure. The location was just ok. The staff was nice but vague with directions. "Take the train up the street" had us confused and wasting time as there were many options. However this could be a good thing about the location once you learned the system.

Nice hotel - great room service and very helpful staff. Concierge recommended some excellent places to eat, things to do and places to visit.

House keeping was of very good standard, and minibar restocked daily.

Breakfast very good also.

Room facilities very good also including coffee machine. (Only drawback was there were not many English Sky channels - but that's to be expected in a French speaking country)

Room Tip: Suggest getting a deluxe room in the new part of the hotel - good value for money in an otherwise ex...

We stayed here in a junior suite (315) for 3 nights. It was quiet, cosy, extremely clean and well appointed; compared to other rooms it was spacious. There is a double sofa bed, a king size bed, a coffee maker, heated towel rails and delightful bathroom products. The bath is nice and deep and the water very hot.
Negatives: our daughter complained of an uncomfortable sleep on the sofa bed and the pillows needed an update. Once the sofa bed is open, there is not a lot of room to move around.
Don't let the initial impression of the entrance foyer dissuade you from staying. It needs an update also. Continue into the hotel and you will find a lovely bar area and lots of Art Nouveau touches.
The restaurant provides a decent choice for breakfast, like everything in Geneva, it is not what I would call reasonable, however item for item,it is comparable to surrounding cafes.
The staff are extremely helpful and are happy to provide info on tours and restaurants.

My daughter found this hotel on the internet and booked it for me and my wife as a belated birthday present. Four of us in total booked the hotel. I was a little concerned by the mixed reviews, however any fears were alayed some days before arriving when a very effective, helpful and thouroughly pleasant young lady (Marie) resolved a few small issues. She even reommended two restaurants for us, booked them for us and both were fabulous. That in itself warmed me to the hotel. Our room was a 'delux' and as presented was spacious (in city center terms), clean and tidy. Great bathroom and very comfortable bed. Great location, convienent to the city centre, shopping district and a number of great restaurants. All of the staff, from the concierge to the cleaners, were discrete and very helpful. Delightful treats like a 'bed-time' chocolate and a note of the following day's weather really epitimise where the hotel wants to go. Very well done. An important holiday for us and made better by our choie of hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get as large a room as possible - it is well worth the extra cost.

The staff are a little stuffy, but everything else was lovely - a fantastic location, with brilliant amenities within the hotel.

The rooms, although small, are kitted out with everything you need, and might want, with coffee machines in each room, and the best shower I've used in a long time!

Stayed here with my wife while she jetted around Geneva on a business trip. From that perspective, it was very conveniently located for us - close enough to her meetings and close for me to have an easy wonder around the cobbled streets of the old town.

The hotel is really well presented with a few quite interesting little quirks (though the lack of lift to the 5th floor wasn't ideal - it's one of those tiny two-person lifts which, given the height of the building, can only get to the 4th floor).
We were pleased with both the cleanliness and the presentation of the room. Nice soaps / towels etc. too. Customer service was really excellent - with a really helpful concierge who flattered our stumbling Franglais with some wonderfully easy-to-understand French and breaking into English when we looked nonplussed.
As with seemingly all things in Geneva, costs are high - a little shocked to discover the cost of breakfast and the extras, but then, this wasn't out of whack with the cost of lunch/dinner at restaurants either.

All in all a good experience and if not plush, certainly 'charming' as others have indicated.

Room Tip: if you don't like stairs, avoid the fifth floor!
