“Peace peace to the WORLD!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

The Palais des Nations is such a historic building. All the conference rooms have such amazing art, from murals, to sculptures and painting. For lovers of art, this is a place to visit. It also represents a place of peace and war. With paintings depicting wars and peace. Very Historic

“Mixed feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

I went with a negative perspective because I hate the fact that these guys spend billions every year and every employee seems to have a well-paid job for life based on not-really-achieving-very-much with our tax dollars.
But the building is impressive and the tour was good in that it opened my perspective to some of the good that has been achieved. Worth a visit.

The artwork, the grounds, the walls, ceilings... the whole bit was amazing. Souvenir shop was really expensive.

“Boring”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Not open as stated great view of flags! Three legged chair (great artist depiction for the fight against land mines) was impressive.

“Very different from UN New York”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

The two main UN locations are a real contrast - at least on the outside. Whereas New York is a relatively modern building with the East River providing a backdrop, the Palais is, in effect, a group of interconnected buildings surrounded by green parks. A word of caution. In New York, the public entrance is very close to the main building. In Geneva, visitors have to enter by a gate that is a walk uphill from the main entrance, several minutes away. One of the interesting features to note is the huge chair in front of the main entrance, and the fountains that play during the warmer months. Do make the effort to find out about the chair.
