“Simply gorgeous!”

There is nothing like a nice walk or run along the lake on a nice day. There are plenty of benches and nice areas to sit and enjoy the view.

“Some suggestions...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2012

I'd recommend you to do a whole day round trip. You can start in Thun. There, the lake promenade at the Schadaupark provides some great views! The buses start adjacent to the train station, close to the boat dock. Try to take the bus: You will be driven along the beautiful left side of the Thunersee, with great views of the Niesen. There are possibilities to take a bath in the lake, especially @ Oberhofen, Merligen and Sundlauenen. Don't miss Castle Oberhofen, it's picturesque! You will also pass the St. Beatus Caves. In Interlaken, visit the Höhenweg and maybe the interesting tourist museum. Another choice could be to visit the Schnige Platte with its great views. Later you can take the yellow "Postauto" to Spiez. Then you will see the whole right side of the Thunersee. Därligen, Leissigen (good Hostel) and Spiez (Castle and bight). Once in Spiez, you can take the Bus back to Thun. Or, you can choose to to this trip by boat or in combination.
