The main streets Spitalgasse & Marktgasse are under construction for another month or 2. But the walk down Kramgasse can be enjoyable. lots of shops if you have money to burn on overpriced items cafes, restaurants & a few bars. The Zytglogge tower is a landmark medieval tower . Built in the early 13th century, it has served the city as guard tower, prison, clock tower, centre of urban life and civic memorial. Albert Einstein lived in a flat at the Kramgasse 49, the site of the Einsteinhaus, from 1903 to 1905, the year in which the Annus Mirabilis Papers were published. There are eleven Renaissance allegorical statues on public fountains in the Old Town. If its a nice sunny day you can enjoy a walk through Munsterplattform, this is the park next to the cathedral.A nice view of the river Aare is scene from here.
