It's a very modest looking hotel in a quiet part of town. The rooms are comfortable and clean. For a family of four we had a very large suite with a sliding door between the rooms. No frills, just well run and efficient. They have no AC but were happy to bring up a pedestal fan.
Breakfast room is very Swiss---cosy wooden booths with a lovely old world atmosphere. Breakfast was plentiful, hearty breads, delicious cheeses, meats, fruit, etc. Loved the Espresso machine.
Desk staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with a superb walking tour of Bern starting at the hotel. The walk took us from the hotel, to the Rose Garden with fabulous view, on to the bears, and then the magnificent old town.
