Heavy on dairy products, fat carries flavour - yes, those mountain cows are working for a good cause. Rösti and Käsespätzle, lots of cream, full-flavoured to say the least. The waiter recommended red wine from Valais, the Swiss wine region with the most autochtonous grape varietals (e.g., Humagne Rouge), and that went down very well. We had a nice table outside - inside was very noisy and you would surely smell of cheese for days to come.
Service was average, and it was pricey, about normal for Berne I dare say. Maybe a good place to go with friends from abroad who need a quick overdose of cheese.
