“Lovely modern hotel but too hot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

We have just returned from a stay here. The hotel is in an idea location to explore Basel and in easy reach via a tram of the stations for both Germany and France. The hotel seems to have only recently been refurbished and the rooms had beautiful modern decor. On the first evening our shower was blocked but that got sorted by the following morning by hotel staff with no problems. The breakfast was lovely but the breakfast area does get really busy at weekends. The one thing that did spoil our stay was the heat inside the room (which was set at 24 degrees) meaning we had to open the window and be woke up by the street noise outside and the trams which was a shame, I would therefore only stay at this hotel again if they addressed this issue.

Room Tip: Stay at the back away from the road

Have just returned from a three night stay here. This was our first visit but we certainly would love to return and would have no hesitation in recommending it. We stayed in a superior room at the rear of the hotel. The rooms were very spacious and very well appointed. I cannot agree with other reviewers who referred to the "hospital beds". I found the bed extremely comfortable and had no problem with the lower sheet and the memory foam pillow was great. There is a flat screen TV with loads of channels (including BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4 for UK visitors). Bathroom is also very spacious with a rainforest shower. There is tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, safe and a minibar. Still and sparkling water are free as well as the wi-fi.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the housekeeping staff kept the rooms and the entire hotel spotless. We had breakfast at the hotel and there was plenty available, both a hot and cold selection and fruit. Also tea/coffee and fruit juices and water. The only minor criticism I had was that there was orange and blood orange juice but no apple juice. I'm sure if I had asked that would have been attended to but there was so much other choice I didn't.
The hotel is located slightly away from the centre but it only takes about 10 minutes to walk to there. However on arrival you are issued with a travel pass for the trams. The nearest stop is only a few yards away. They all go in to the centre. They are extremely efficient and are a great way to get about. We used them a lot - great. Go on treat yourself -you won't be disappointed.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of December with our 4 year old son.

The room was a good size, too hot for us as the heating was hard to adjust. The receptionist told us that there's water in the ceiling that heats & cools but it can take a long time. We just used to leave the little window open during the day to cool it down.

The breakfast was nice with a wide selection.

All the staff we encountered were polite & pleasant.

The area was a bit out the way but walkable to the nicer part of Basel or easy to get a tram.

If we went again we probably wouldn't stay here because I'd rather stay closer to the old town and it wasn't ideal for our rather boisterous 4 year old son - the reception and restaurant areas were very quiet & subdued so we spent a lot of time hashing him!

It was now my second booking since this hotel is owned by Pullmann and i'm still satisfied. Though the booked classic room could have been a bit bigger everything else was pretty good. The location is close to downtown. The rooms are modern and tidy, internet connection is for free and the breakfast was included. The car park is reachable via lift. The staff is friendly and helpful. Resume: I'm looking foreward to stay here again while my next visit to Basel.

This is a nice hotel with large rooms. It is very clean and modern. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the lounge serves very limited but good food. It's in an odd location- not bad, you just don't expect it to be there! I would definitely stay here again in Basel.

Very nice hotel, clean, modern, all comforts.
I had read that rooms in the front are noisy due to the tram but I didn't find that to be true, I could not hear anything! Bed and pillows very comfortable, I did not find the undercover of the mattress to be annoying like in other reviews.
I particularly appreciated that on the desk there is a panel for all UK & European plugs, plus USB, HDMI and audio/video cables to connect to the flat screen tv. So I didn't need an adapter at all!
The restaurant is also nice. Staff super friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Pullman based upon previous reviews and were not disappointed.

Check-in was efficient however our room wasn't ready (we were early) but we were offered a drink whilst we waited. The staff on the desk were very attentive as we were traveling with an infant who was restless, but they tried to make our little on at ease.

The room was well appointed and in great condition. They gave us a quiet room at the back and when we arrived, the infant cot was ready as well. We always feel conscious about hotel rooms with an infant, especially with him crawling, however the carpets and bathroom tiles were spotless.

The bathroom was fantastic and came with plenty of clean towels. The walk in rain shower was lovely in the meeting and our little boy enjoyed splashing in it.

Breakfast was a well presented buffet with a small but delicious choice. Again the staff were really attentive and nothing was too much trouble, even offering to wash our infant bowls and cutlery. It was busy on the Saturday and people were queuing, so timing could be critical for late risers.

The bar in the evening was quiet but friendly and the beer was a welcome refreshment. The staff and other guests don't mind our little one shuffling round which was nice and relaxing (if we didn't feel comfortable, we wouldn't let him in the bar area).

Overall our stay was fantastic and made all the more pleasurable by the staff and quality of the hotel. I'd recommend the hotel to families and business travelers due to its facilities and convenient location.

If you find my reviews of use, please let me know by giving me a helpful vote.
