“excellent service, nice trendy rooms, good food, nice pool and sauna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2011

I stayed here for two days for business purposes.
I was booked in a business room (n°148). From check-in till check-out everything was just great, very friendly staff!
Hotel location is just perfect, walking distance from everywhere - if it's the train station, the market square or the river side or the shopping and restaurant streets. If you're not much of a walking type, you can take the tram just in front of the hotel. You mobility ticket is offered by the hotel for the length of your stay and even allows you to take bus n° 50 to the euroairport.

The room was great. Room 148 is on the first floor just above the lobby at the front of the hotel. Only disadvantage of the room is the fact that it's facing the street and despite the double windows, you can here the street noise quite well (tram, people, cars). The lay-out of the room was a bit strange. When you come in, you have the closets with minibar and safe, etc; then a sort of oversized walk-in closet with an iron and a board; opposite a bathroom with shower, toilet. Then you walk further and come into a room with desk (with Nespresso machine and cups; flatscreen tv; thea making facility) and two cosey chairs. You have here some double doors after which is the bedroom (not much more than a comfortable bed and another flatscreen tv) and the other side there was another bathroom with bathtub and toilet.

Business class rooms have upscale toiletries; bathrobes and slippers; free pay-tv and movies on demand; nespresso machines and cups; free breakfast buffet, free wifi.

Breakfast was nice; but I have had better and more choice. I was missing fresh orange juice. You can have coffee made to order. Breakfast is in the trendy Fellini restaurant.

The hotel is very stylish, design, trendy.
It has a nice swimming pool (large) with sauna and steambath + small outdoor relaxing section.

Fellini: had lunch here. Nice food and service!

Room Tip: business class rooms are just that little extra which makes the difference

I stayed at Radisson Blu Basel Hotel in November 2010,when I was at Basel to watch the Swiss Open ATP tennis tournament. This hotel is placed right at the heart of the city yet at the same time it is a ''quiet'' hotel.Access to public transportation is very easy, tramway stop is very close. There is a nice shopping center and nice restaurants just around the corner. The river is just a 15 minutes walk away, with another series of good restaurants and cafes. The rooms at the hotel are spacious and quiet . The bar is nice. The restaurant is nice.I liked the open buffet breakfast a lot.Everything I looked for was there.I strongly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Standard room is good value for money.Do not pay extra for a business room.Prefer upper floor rooms.

on our Family holiday trip back from Italy, we spent the night At the Radisson in Basel.
the parking place is very comfortable, under the hotel!
The warm welcome was subliem, we felt really welcome.

I asked for 2 rooms side by side, because we traveled with our 2 kids ( 9 and 12)
The door in between was opened and the whole family was happy.

The hotel underwent recently a make over and looks very loungy, spacious and new.
The restaurant is excellent, ( Italian), but the waiter was very flexible on the menu, as my kids were graving for some french fries and a hamburger, which was possible to make by the cook.

A nice hotel in the middle of Basel, with excellent ( free WIFI!!) features.

Stayed 2 nights in Mid July as we had tickets for the Tattoo.
Hotel is a short tram ride from the train station and a short walk to the city centre.
Free transit pass is a great bonus.
Very contemporary decor and furnishings and largish room with very comfortable bed. Breakfast was included in our stay and was excellent with an extensive choice.
Like other guests the naked sauna came as a shock but we did avail of the pool instead.
Staff very helpful and would recommend this hotel if you are visiting Basel.

This hotel is great. Everything is spotlessly clean, the staff us friendly and helpful, and the location is great. We have a business class double and it is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is included with our room, as are movies on demand and a city-wide transit ticket. Breakfast was really good with lots of choices, but expensive if it's not included with your room rate (31CHF).

The pool and spa areas are amazing, but I was surprised by the requirement to use the sauna in the nude! The hotel is 5-10 minutes walking from the main train station and has a tram stop at the front door. It is also 5-10 minutes walking to the Rhine, museums, and churches.

I stay here for business purposes quite often. The hotel is comfortable and clean with lovely staff to greet you at reception. The rooms are contemporary and airy, with all the usual comfortable beds, pillows and linen you will find in Switzerland. Room service is predictable as with most hotels these days and rather expensive, but then you would expect that here. There are restaurants and bars close by and about 30 metres away there is an Irish Bar, Paddy Reilly's for a good beer, pretty good bar food and lots of screens for sports.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the shops and about a 20 minute walk to the river. In the summer you can watch the local attraction of filling a waterproof bag with your belongings then jumping into the river and floating downstream under several bridges until you find a pub to stop at and dry off. Sounds pretty couth to me!
The river and old part are a natural attraction with many places to sit by the river and enjoy the sunshine.
The concierge will provide you with information about a trip to the mountain, by bus and cable car and then you can ride to the bottom on special adult scooters for approx 40euro.
The hotel isn't luxurious but very comfortable and friendly and if you want to spend most of your time out and about then this fits the bill fine.

The rooms and service are very good. The restaurant served good food, but last year there was more choice.
