“Serene and beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2014

The moment you walk into this hotel, you feel very welcomed.
The front desk staff is very helpful and eager to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as it can be.
The room we stayed in was beautiful. It even offered a fantastic view from the bathroom window. The spa is one of a kind. Very different.
Make sure to take your bathing suit and make some time to use its magnificent indoor pools.
One night we had dinner in their restaurant and it was excellent.
The daily breakfast, which is included is a wonderful and beautiful spread.
Great value!
The town is within walking distance and you feel very safe even late at night.
The grounds, the lobby, the hallways...are magnificent. Walking around the hallways is like walking in a museum. Full of great art works.
I highly recommend it.

This is an old monastery, converted into a hotel. I had a room with a balcony, overlooking the olive groves at the back. It was so beautuful, and peaceful. The room was spacious, and comfortable.

The spa had vey modern facilities and a beautiful pool - something you would not expect in a converted monastery.

The food was delicious, and the staff at the restaurant and at reception, were very professional, and accommodating.

The hotel is very conveniently situated, near downtown Gubbio.

We recently spent one night at the hotel Ai Cappuccini for the reason that after a long drive from Rome we really wanted to have a good night sleep in a plush hotel. On arrival we were able to get the room we asked for. The staff person was very helpful and understanding. Our room and the en-suite were well appointed as you would expect from a four stars hotel. The dining area, where we had a complimentary morning breakfast, was spacious and bright with a very attractive patio overlooking the Umbria 's countryside. The cost of the room matched what the hotel has to offer to demanding customers.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the hotel, facing a hilly terrain, are more suitable for people who prefer...

We loved this place. It was not busy at all and their service was excellent.

I'm only giving it four stars because of somewhat picky things, but it was one of the nicest places in town so my expectations were pretty high. The door between the car park and the hotel was locked at all hours of the day (despite signage stating it was locked after 10pm). There was a buzzer to use if you needed through that door while it was locked (nearly every time) and it was only answered half the time I needed it. So often that I got in the habit of dropping my wife at the front door, and then parking the motorcycle in the garage. More often than not, I would park the bike, then walk out of the garage and up the hill to the lobby. This was not the end of the world, and we certainly walked our shoes off that week touring the countryside. But it was inconvenient and not as advertised. And, as I said, my expectations were fairly high because of the pricepoint of the hotel.

That alone might not have caused me to withhold one star, but in addition to that issue, the electronic key to the room never worked (no real attempt made to correct that - just given a metal key with a giant wooden key fob), and the internet service was all but non-existant. So much so that I gave up on working for a couple of days while we stayed in Gubbio, because nowhere in the building was the internet speed sufficient to download email from home, much less connect on a VOIP call.

I remain a fan of this hotel, and will probably stay there again if I'm in the area. It is breathtakingly lovely, and the grounds, the staff and the room could not be nicer. It is *almost* a perfect hotel, and I imagine that any disappointment I had was because my expectations were so high to begin.

Modern facilities in an old monastery with the flair of history and the conveniences of modernity.
Friendly staff, great pool, lovely landscaping, homely feeling. We did not eat in the hotel, but found the bar a little stiff. Great for conventions.

This was our fourth visit to Hotel Parc ai Cappuccini and we loved it just as much as the first time we went there 14 years ago. The staff, as before, were friendly, professional and very helpful throughout our six day stay. The food (and wine!) in the restaurant was delicious and impeccably served - and the breakfast still the best we've had in any hotel. We find the location of this hotel ideal - a pleasant 20 minutes walk from the centre of Gubbio with all it has to offer. We're already looking to the next time!

Staff were helpful. That's the good part. Internal signage was very poor. We had to ask several staff to locate their lovely pool. The place had a very empty feeling. Dinner was good but getting the bill right took several attempts for a group of nine people who had been encouraged by the waiter to ask for separate checks. Overall a very cold uninviting place.
