Superb architecture in an attractive setting. Peace and solace rule over this area of Itaky. Undeniably charming!

“A must-see in Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

Breathtaking and solemn at the same time, this magnificent church is one of the most famous in the world. People worldwide descend on Assisi year-round to make the religious pilgrimage to the Basilica. It is a tremndous experience just being here. The history, the architecture, the artwork and the devotion by so many followers is simply awe inspiring. A must-see in your lifetime.

“A very special place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

The church is a very distinctive landmark already when approaching Assisi from the distance.Once there I was very moved by its history, the story and life of Saint Francis and the most beautiful frescoes painted by several medieval painters. There is an Upper Church, the Lower Church and the crypt with the remains of Saint Francis. It is a World Heritage site and well worth a visit, no matter what religion. The village of Assisi is simply delightful, it is like being put back in time. The locals were very friendly and we had the most amazing photo opportunities. We spent three nights in Assisi, there was lots to discover and enjoy.

“Dedicated to St. Francis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

When I heard about the life of St. Francis, i was very touched and humbled. The Basilica was elegantly constructed over his tomb, with great original artworks all over. In fact, the entire town of Assisi is like frozen in time, simply beautiful.
