“A wonderful warm venue to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013 via mobile

Arriving in Assisi, we found this B and B on the Main Street. This is basically a house converted to a B and B. The double room was lovely with its on suite but those staying in the twin room would find it a bit cramp. The only downside of our nights stay was that the wifi was offered free but it did not work.
However the B and B was convenient to the main attraction of the st Francis basilica . Breakfast involved warm pastries and coffees and although our host had limited English, we all understood each other perfectly.
A word of warning....do not try to take a large bag up the stairs, as they are very narrow and twisting three flights up. We took up only a small bag of overnight necessities.
Recommended.

We enjoyed our stay and agree with others who consider it charming. The B&B is in a convenient location on a major street, just a stone's throw from the Basilica di San Francesco. The room was pleasant and homey, if a bit cluttered with knick-knacks. Breakfast was nice. The spiral entry staircase wasn't an issue for us, but it could be a bit of a challenge for someone less physically able. The wi-fi signal was very faint but it worked well enough.

Quiet and clean room, enormous bathroom with all the amenities. The owner was very helpful even when we arriving in the city later than expected. The address I was given was to their store which is a 5 minute walk away from their second set of rooms where we ended up staying. The stay was more than I expected as it was in a great location, and as advertised. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Breakfast is served at a set time. We had to skip it the morning we left as we needed to get to the...

I stayed in the single room which was light, airy, spacious and beautifully decorated.
It has its own very nice bathroom two paces across the corridor, which wasn't a disadvantage.
Spiral staircase might be a problem for people with limited mobility, but the owner helpfully carried my case up.
Owners run the shop downstairs, so easy to make contact at arrival and departure during shop hours.
There is a real feel-good factor about the accommodation, and indeed the town.
Good location for visiting the basilica - if you want to see the Giotto frescoes, the lower basilica is open from 6.30 am and practically deserted till 9.00, and there's more in and around Assisi than you might at first think. Good transport connections - several direct trains each day from Florence - and a reasonably priced bus to Perugia airport that synchronises with the Ryanair flights.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by the single room not being en suite. It has its own bathroom, and this pair o...

This hotel has the perfect location, just 200 metres from St Francis basilica. The rooms are tenderly decorated, full of warm and unique details. You can tell its runned by its owners, as you can feel the dedication in every corner. It reminded me of my granny´s home!!
The breakfast is delicious and served by its owners. I will surely return!!

I arrived in Assisi at 11:30 at night and the owners of B&B New Day met me at the train station! My room was the Angelo room, a charming single covered with angel artwork. I really felt at home there. The room was without bathroom, so it was a little awkward to take keys to the bathroom to lock the door. The room was a little hot at night and without fan or AC.

The decor of the New Day was very quaint. The proprietress served me some cold juice and water after my late arrival and served a plentiful breakfast in the morning. I would have stayed longer but they were booked up for the next night.

You can't beat the proximity to St Francis basilica for the price!

Room Tip: Perhaps splurge for a room with a bathroom there. Also the rooms that faced the small courtyard in...

Assisi is a charming place to visit and this bed and breakfast is equally charming. The store owner downstairs of the Bed and Breakfast helped check us in. Stairs are spiral and steep but only an issue when carrying luggage. Breakfast was good and rooms clean. Not a lot of personal time with owners that we experienced in other parts of Italy we stayed in, but still would recommend. Be sure if coming in by train that you visit Santa Maria Degli Angeli before taking the bus up to Assisi. We missed seeing St. Francis' real church because we didn't realize it was right by the train station. :(
