“A fantastic place to stay in Siena”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

A small but very hospitable and friendly place to stay in Siena. A short 10 minute walk from the bus stop. The rooms are compact and well furnished with a magnificent terrace from where you will eat your buffet breakfast. The staff are excellent, both the young Italian gentleman and the Italian-American fellow. The service in Italy can be inconsistent to say the least, but you will be delighted with what you are presented with here. We arrived very early and we were welcomed with open arms and given breakfast. My wife and I have travelled broadly throughout Asia and Europe and I must say that this place will be hard to beat.

Room Tip: There are only six to choose from!

While I maintain that the room rates are slightly inflated for the area, I think this little gem is worth the stay. We stayed in Suite #2 and the views out of our window were spectacular! The breakfast buffet was among the best we've had in that region. Wonderful coffee and fruit selection; make sure you sit outside on the patio! I believe they could beef up on their bathroom products and purchase some higher quality towels.

We drove from Firenze to Siena and stopped in San Gimignano on our way back north, which I highly recommend. While we were only in Siena for two days, we both agreed that it was the perfect amount; no need to spend anymore time visiting if you actively walk through town. Still, if you're going to visit, love great views and small hotels, this is the place!

Room Tip: Stay at the rear of the hotel if you want the great views!

Campo Regio Relais is a gem of a hotel, right in the centre of Siena. the rooms are small but very sweet and the staff seemingly can't do enough to help you out. The terrace has unbeatable views across the city up to the Duomo. I would definitely recommend this to friends and try to stay again if I ever came back.
Also, I can't remember the name of it but there's a great little trattoria just around the corner, half way down the hill.
Thanks Dennis!

Room Tip: I've heard that the expensive rooms have amazing views, but we just booked a standard room which...

The rooms can best be described as petite, not small. They are beautifully appointed with linen sheets on the beds. You feel very privileged to be in this historic building and most certainly you feel like a guest in a friend's magnificent house. Breakfast was outstanding with a breathtaking view. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and genuinely warm and concerned. This is a gem.

We had a delightful stay at Campo Regio Relais. We stayed in Room 5 which has the most breathtaking view of Siena and the Cathedral - I wouldn't be surprised if it's the best in the city. Denis was a most congenial host - helpful, interested and cultured. Siena is beautiful. Book without hesitation.

We have just come back from Italy and Campo Regio Relais made our stay in Siena trully memorable. We stayed in room 5, which had its own terrace where we had a breathtaking view of the Duomo perched on top of the hill. I could not get enough photos of this view. The room was extremely clean and beautifully decorated with a four poster bed, couch and table for relaxing and breakfast can be served in the room if you so desire. The breakfast was superb, with so much variety that it caters for all types of tastes. It is within walking distance to everything, including excellent little restaurants that you find off the normal pathways. The entrance to the hotel is a plain glass door that is tucked away from view but once inside you can feel that history of this beautifully renovated old building and the staff help make this a five star establishment. Their attentiveness and willingness to help and make you feel at home, make this a difficult place to leave. Stay at least two nights, nothing less. You will love every minute of your time spent here and in Siena.

Room Tip: Room 5 has its own terrace with a round table and 2 chairs where you can sit and watch the restauran...

Our stay here was simply wonderful! We had a lot of trouble finding the hotel but called and they directed us perfectly - even stayed on the phone the whole time until we were at the door! We had two rooms - #6 and #2. Number 2 was smaller but extremely clean and comfortable and perfect for our two teenage sons. Number 6 was fabulous! With great views of the Duomo and city! At first I was a little nervous about #6 as one review on Trip Advisor complained about that room and the noise from the street. But since that person was there the windows have been replaced and it couldn't have been quieter. The beds were super comfortable - with linen sheets! Bathrooms were clean and updated. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The service was first rate. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the Duomo could not be beat. I highly recommend Campo Regio Relais!
