“Cozy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

This hotel has a very welcoming feeling and Daniella is a wonderful person. She is always willing to help you and provide honest recommendations. We felt so much peace and relaxing. The view from the terrace and our rooms left us speechless. It is very close to the Piazza and next door to St Catalina's home. We had a share bathroom, no problem clean all the time.

We decided to stay at this 1 star B&B for 3 nights in September after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. Our room No8 was on the ground floor with ensuite shower,WC and washbasin, there was A/C in the room and we had a wonderful view from the window. The basic €3.50 breakfast on the legendary terrace was great value with coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt and toast or croissants. When we asked for advice Carlota and Eugenia were very knowledgeable and helpful on all topics especially restaurants in the area. One must remember that this is a 1star establishment therefore there are no frills like toiletries, hairdrier,TV or a decent supply of hot water but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this friendly B&B.

Room Tip: Book a room that is ensuite.

lovely place to stay, just a short walk from the main piazza di campo in siena. carlotta is a lovely host, and the room was lovely and airy. the terrace has very good views of the siena, lovely to watch the sun go down.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back to have a view of siena.

Before writing about the room and the hotel, I have to say this: I arrived in Siena before an exam and was a wreck, but Signora Daniella, who runs the Bernini, went out of her way to help me out in many ways. I left the Bernini a very happy and relaxed person. Mille Grazie Daniella!

As for the room, it was a cozy and comfortable. The shared bathrooms are spotlessly clean and the terrace has one of the best views in all of Tuscany. The management is patient and always ready to assist you with directions and advice on Siena.

The location is also wonderful; very central and close to all the major sites. I highly recommend the Bernini.

I stayed here with my boyfriend in June as part of our trip travelling around Italy. We arrived at 11am in the morning, far before the official check in time and we were warmly welcomed and given coffee on the terrace, our room was ready very shortly afterwards. While we were in Italy there was a heatwave so after wandering around beautiful Siena all we wanted to do was relax. We spent most of the afternoon sitting on the terrace and there is no better view anywhere, you can see all of Siena. During the afternoon many groups of tourists walked below saying they wanted to come up to the terrace to take photos of the view. The Euros were on while we were staying and my boyfriend wished to watch the Italy match which we were invited to watch with the family, which was an excellent experience as the Italians are very passionate about football as shown when they beat England a week later.

The hotel, Albergo Bernini was convenient and comfortable. I recommend ordering the large breakfast to get your day started in Siena (as there are few "American Style" breakfasts available. Carlota is opinionated, but she usually knows what she's talking about. However, I disagree with her choice of gelateria. Carlota was amazingly able to book our reservations to the Uffizi Gallery and the Statue of David the afternoon before our visit there. Don't hesitate to ask her any questions you have, and she'll either have the answer or know someone who does. Our next visit to Siena, the Albergo Bernini will be our first choice to stay.

Room Tip: Room #11 is the premiere suite! Amazing view of the church and rooftops of this Tuscan hill town, pl...

We had a great time staying at the Albergo Bernini for two nights during the run-up to the Palio. We were greeted on the way into town by a procession of about 100 young men in medieval costume, waving their distinctive parish flag - one hand on the hip and the other guiding the flag through a figure eight pattern - and accompanied by a drum corps. Carlotta had complete information about the pre-Palio festivities, as well as multiple excellent restaurant recommendations. We had two comfortable double rooms, each with private bathroom. Room no 10 had an excellent view and AC. Room no 2 was larger; no AC but very effective giant ceiling fan (as well as an extra single bed, useful for a traveling family.) The Albergo has an excellent central location, but do email for detailed parking info if you are traveling by car. We popped into the first city parking garage we saw, which turned out to be located on the other side of Siena from this B&B. This was no huge problem, and in fact it was thanks to our mistake that we had our happy marching band encounter, and after walking for a while with our luggage, we hailed a taxi. For breakfast, we chose to experience one of the many nearby cafe-bars, enjoying excellent cappuccino and a pastry.
