“Beautiful, friendly, and unique!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2011

This hotel was beautiful, historic, and within walking distance from the heart of amazing Siena! The people working here are friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. Our room was great! It was a lofted bed, and we loved it!!! The view from the gardens of the rolling Tuscan hills cannot be beat!! Romantic, and fantastic!!

The staff couldn't have been more accomodating, good breakfast, room and the outside terrace with unbelievable views was unforgettable. Definitely recommend and would go back there again.

Stayed there for two nights in SEP.. Had a room street side, actually it was very quiet. Can walk up to the Plaza. Lucio was the best. Breakfast was just okay. The view from the garden is worth it all..sit there, have a glass of wine, looking out at the gorgeous Tuscan countryside..Not much is better! Felt it was over priced, but overall we enjoyed our stay there.

We enjoyed our stay at HSC. As others have noted, the staff is very helpful and helped us book a wine tour (60 euro for a 5-6 hour wine/castle tour...do it!). We stayed in a double room, which was small but fair for the price vs other hotel options (115 Euro). Our room faced the street, but you surprisingly could not hear any road noise ----and we're light sleepers. Breakfast was ok and was a decent start to the day. Grounds in back were really pretty. The walk to the main drag was about 10 mins and made you feel less guilty about indulging in dinner. I'd stay again.

We were so pleased with the hotel!--The view from the garden was second to none, location was very convenient to all of the sites of Sienna and the service was teriffic!!! Every employee went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Each acted as if was their own business so eager to help with our daily plans and requests. We would stay here again for sure!

Room Tip: Ask to face the view of the tuscan valley/garden--We had a room with a balcony that was wonderful.

We had a street-side room. We heard no street noise, it was very quiet. The room was very small but the bed was comfortable. The best things about this place were: the AMAZING view in the back courtyard; the very impressive and delicious breakfast spread; and Lucio - who was incredibly helpful and friendly, he really made our stay great. The breakfast in Italy is nothing like it is in the States - it is much smaller and more limited but this place had a wonderful spread with meats and cheeses in addition to the traditional danish and jam. Also, the back courtyard is just amazing - we bought picnic supplies in Tuscany one day and had dinner in the courtyard, it was heaven! We will definately stay here again.

It is a bit of a walk,10 minutes, into the middle of Siena but it was a pleasant, enjoyable walk and it didn't bother us one bit.

The train doesn't stop anywhere close to this hotel but there is a bus system you can take from the train station and one of the buses will drop you off right next to the hotel. The bus can be very crowded, but cram on anyway - just be prepared for that.

Out of four hotels, all more expensive, this was our favorite. The room was clean, quiet and unique, and included Internet. The setting is an easy walk to the walled city, and would be a great place to use as a home base while exploring, as there is parking. The breakfast room and outdoor patio are lovely, and the staff is friendly. Would definably return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the garden
