“Excellent hotel-location not ideal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

We stayed two nights in this hotel on a tour of Tuscany with Go Ahead Tours. We had a wonderful lunch (included in the tour) when we arrived and the breakfast (also included) was excellent. It might even be better for guests not on a tour as we ate in a separate room. Our room was OK in size but had slider which opened on to a large patio with table and chairs. The shower was small but the bathroom was very modern. The hotel has a beautiful pool area and large common areas with views of Siena in the distance. A few of our group walked into Siena which took about 20-30 minutes. The hotel sold tickets for a bus which was an easy 10 minute ride into Siena. We took a cab home for under 10 Euros. The staff is extremely helpful and very nice. If we had more time this would be a nice hotel to return to in the late afternoon for pool time or perhaps drinks and dinner on their patio.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a patio,

Dear PatrickMcc,
too bad you had such a short time in Siena! Two days are not enough to experience and live all Hotel Garden's facilities.
I am sorry you did not have time to chill out in the evening on our ample terrace with a gorgeous glass of wine and some snacks (...i'd like that too!) and you did not time to relax in the swimming pool.
Concerning the breakfast and lunch, we split groups and individuals clients just because of a loss of room in the upper restaurant, accomodating groups, meetings, congresses, in the huge banquet halls, while the buffet's food is the same for all anyway.
We hope to see you again in Siena, hopefully for a longer stay.

Thanks

Stayed one night on our tour round Tuscany. the Garden hotel had everything we wanted and more. Free easy car parking, breakfast and able to walk into the centre, we arrived early and left the car in the car park, reception were really helpful giving us a map and advice on how to get to there. It’s is a bit of a walk about 20 mins but a very easy walk down a main road. Enjoyed our look round Siena. We were pleased with our room, it was in one of the annexes' but on a top floor with a view over to Siena. Only thing I would say that we only had a bath with a shower hose, but not able to have a stand up shower. We went to have drinks in the bar the bar man Atla had put on an amazing complementary buffet, he even brought in fresh grapes from outside. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as didn’t fancy that nights menu but went to the pizzeria just down the road, don’t be put off by the name “jolly pizzeria” the place was packed out and we had an amazing baked fish dish. Breakfast was the best we had in our weeks stay with both a hot and cold selection. don’t hesitate to stay here.

This lovely hotel is made up of several low-lying buildings, so rooms seem spread out among the gardens. We had a spacious room, comfortable beds, although a bit hard, and a lovely bathroom done in tile. A good breakfast is served in the main building in a lovely room adjoining the hotel's best feature: a very large terrace that has a terrific view of the city. This terrace alone makes the hotel a stand-out. A nice touch is the bar next to the terrace, which serves a very generous selection of free appetizers with drinks. Be aware, however, that the hotel is not in the city center. Unless you want to take a long walk, you will probably need to use a taxi to get to where the action is.

Thanks AVLwriter,
i am happy you spent lovely and precious time at our hotel.
The words "spread put among the gardens" are perfect for our hotel, which has its real nature right in the ample garden and in its woods located by the garden.
Nature sorrunds the three buildings and city is not that far, if you consider that the old-city walls are reachable in 10 minutes and Campo Square in 25 minutes.
For those who prefer taxi or bus, you get a taxi with about 9/10euros and and the bus with only 1,10€.........and you avoid to look for a parking space and being jammed in the traffic.
Not a bad idea!

We recently had a three night stay while visiting Siena. The hotel is very nice as there is a pool and a back terrace that provides a view of the Tuscany region on one side and Siena on the other side. The hotel staff are most attentive to your needs and friendly as well. There also is ample parking if visiting Tuscany on your own. I would say it takes at least 1/2 hour to get to the outer part of the Siena city walls, though there is one bus that you can take to and from to the center city. Breakfast was fine as well. A nice place to put up your feet if out and about in Tuscany!

Room Tip: There are some rooms that provide a level of views to the back area that would be quite nice

Dear pickleheadcranston,
a big thanks! from our staff for your jice words.
I am glad first you liked our beautiful land and i am more glad you liked our hotel.
The ample park and the walking distance to the old-city walls are the best mix to have a quiet location being at the same time not far from city's hot spots.
Swimming pool and the open terrace are the "most wanted" from travellers in the hot season and give you the possibility yo chill out and relax 100 per cent.

wish you a nice going back home and hope to see you again at Hotel Garden
