“Magical Ancient Light”

Frescoes, floor tiles, illuminated manuscripts, amazing ceiling. This is one room, small compared to the Duomo, and it is a sight you will not want to miss. It is perfection. Decipher the story of Eleanor on the walls. Marvel at the hand painted illuminated books that are arranged around the perimeter. This is one of the world's most beautiful interior spaces.
Worth the journey and the modest price of admission.

Beautiful frescos. Definitely go see it if you are in Siena. The day we were there, in the off-season, it was empty so we had the whole room to ourselves.

“Do not miss this!”

We are serious. The frescos and illuminated music books are nothing short of stunning. Try to time your visit to avoid tour groups because the room is simply too small to handle them and still be magical. You won't be disappointed.

I recommend a audio guide for this amazing venue, very informative and beautiful. A must do while in Siena!

“Not to be missed!”

Located within the Duomo, the biblioteca is a marvelous, exuberant, room filled with frescoes by Tuscan masters and a ceiling that makes you want to lie down on the floor and stare at it for an hour or so.
