This was the most disappointing hotel experience we had during a three week visit to France and Italy. When we arrived the people at the front desk were arguing with other guests. We were left waiting while the disagreement continued for 15 minutes. The hotel has no lift and we were given no assistance with our luggage up the stairs. The room was furnished in 1970s college dorm style. Most telling regarding their approach to customer service is when we had to leave the hotel 10 minutes before breakfast officially opened in the morning, the front desk employee refused to allow us to grab a few items to go! The individuals working the front desk are rude and inconsiderate.

We spent one night at the Hotel Chiusarelli during our 10 day visit to Italy. Unfortunately, it was the least impressive of the hotels we stayed in.

Our first impression of the hotel was good as the building itself and the entry area are beautiful. Our room, however, was drab and not well maintained. We had read about the noise for rooms facing streetside, but were not prepared for how loud it really was. If you do choose to stay here, make sure you request a room away from the street!
The most frustrating part of the visit, however, was the reception we received at the front desk. The manager who checked us in told us that we were late and that our room had been given away (we had called the night before to say we would be 3 hours later than planned) but that "luckily" he had another room for us. He then walked us to our room, opened the door and left. I thought he had dropped something in the hallway since he disappeared so quickly, but he had just left. He didn't explain the breakfast times, the safe, or anything. This service, in addition to the loud room, made for a not so delightful stay.

We arrived in Siena the other day after three days in Rome. We were a bit apprehensive about where to stay.
We tried the Hotel Jolly and they qouted €180 for one night for a double. We asked them to recommend another hotel nearby and they pointed us in the direction of the Chiuserelli.
The lady on the desk was very friendly and when we asked could we see the rooms she duly obliged and showed us around.
She gave us a double room for €90
The room was spotless and very nicely decorated. |We had a room facing the back so we couls see the football field behind as well as many trees.
The bathroom too was clean and well stocked with towels etc. The only strange thing is the absense of a shower curtain.
Some people on this site complained about noise but I have to say we did not experience any noise problems.
The hotel gave us a map showing all of central Siena. We went for a wander after settling in. The hotel is only five minutes from the main Campo. There are several bars and restaurants here.
The city centre is pedestrianised so it is a real pleasure to walk about and admire the old buildings. Siena is truly beautiful.
I would heartily recommend this hotel for people staying in Siena for a day or two as it is central ,reasonable and very clean.

This hotel has a beautiful presentation and the best breakfast out of 5 hotels that we stayed at throughout Italy. The BIG problem was the noise!!! And the terrible beds that caused serious back aches. The room was plain as well as the shower not working properly. I would not stay here again but would definetly eat here.

Stayed here for two nights, the room was bare (no pictures etc) with minimal cheap furniture, however it was clean as was the bathroom, just a shower, the water pressure was pathetic. We did have a lovely (if public) balcony, with plantings that were barely surviving. Location was good, staff helpful and pleasant, hotel should give instructions to enter this walled city..would look for other accomodations if we return to Siena.
