“Convenient Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

First we were convinced that we could walk from the train station to the hotel. It was pouring rain so we got a cab. A note about cabs...if you get them from the train station the price is lower than if you call them from the hotel. Once in the cab we realized that we probably wouldn't have been able to figure out how to get to the hotel. As most of the way was uphill it would have been a challenge toting the luggage we had.

This hotel was small and quaint. Pluses were that it was close to most everything and the price was excellent. Room was adequate. I like good reading lights and a clock; clock missing and lights dim. Bed was good, temperature comfortable.

Easy walking distance to many of the attractions. Gates to the old city are very close. Duomo an absolute must see!!

Breakfast which was included was quite good. Lots of choices. We had one dinner at the restaurant. No one raved about their choice; my sirloin was raw. Evidently that is how meat is served in that part of Italy. After sending it back, it returned medium rare. All in all dinner was pricey and only okay. Breakfast was so much better.

Front desk people were helpful but not overly so. Twice they had a longish conversation with one of the other people who worked there ignoring us. We thought that was curious.

Would we return? Depends on if we wanted to spend more money or if we were okay with the negatives to make up for the lower price.

We got a great deal on this hotel and noted that it was fully booked out even though it was the off season. The location is on the edge of the old city but still an easy walk to the main city attractions. We requested (and got) a room with a balcony overlooking the sports oval behind the hotel and some bushland. The room was comfortable and the breakfast room was great with a good selection of food. Staff were busy but remained friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a fairly ordinary street but we found a couple of good restaurants nearby at the bottom end of the street near the cathedral. There is no lift and getting to the room is a bit of a trek up and down stairs but that was not an issue for us.

I was here just for one night, but I was very satisfied. Room was great, old furniture but nice, bathroom very big, everything really clean, good heating, staff really nice, very helpful.
Location is great, 5 minutes by walk to main pedestrian area. You can reach everything in easy way. Breakfast was also great, various things, typical continental breakfast.
Parking was 15 euros for us for 24 hours.
Be only aware of hot water, sometimes I had a feeling that it burns skin. It comes on waves, and it is a problem for child or women who is more sensitive. I don' t know what is a problem with it.
At the end, very nice hotel with some problems.

Loved this hotel in Siena! The room was spacious, as well as the bathroom. Ours even had a tub! The staff was helpful, and I even received free internet! The breakfast was great. The best part is the location....literally right around the corner from the bus station. The hotel is down the street from San Domenico church and from one of the streets that lead to the old center. The church bells will ring at 7:00 am, but we used it as our wake up call. A Soccer stadium is right behind the hotel, and it was really fun to see a game from my hotel balcony.

Literally across the road from entering the "Historical" Centre of Siena (sometimes staying right in a historical centre isn't always all that it's cut out to be - keeping in mind that the 'roads' are narrow, making them dark as the sun only comes through in slivers or enjoy the fresh night air after a long day of sightseeing. There are no 'views' to speak of and they are noisier because of revellers). Being just on the other side of the street, like the Chiasurelli, I, personally, find much nicer. The Chiasurelli is really reasonably priced (in fact a bargain). Its interiors, including the breakfast room, and en suite rooms are tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable, the service friendly and helpful, the patio overlooking the football field and the 'other' side of Siena, a pleasure to while away a restful hour or two. Close to bus stops and just all round convenient. I would return any day.

Room Tip: My room was a corner room, so two windows - bathroom and bedroom - which was lovely for a breeze, fa...

Very nice room, helping staff, good breakfast (maybe not too rich, but still good). Location very close to the center. Also 2 minute walk from the main bus station. More than very satisfied.
The only thing - church bells might interrupt your sleep - but it's old town.

Location - excellent. A short walk away from all the goings on in Siena, easy to find and only a 10min walk from the train station

Service - not the friendliest or most talkative staff. The gentleman who checked me in was kind enough to carry my suitcase up the stairs for me but without so much as a word other than to take our booking name..

Room - Small but clean. Did the job I suppose but nothing plush. The double bed was just 2 singles pushed together. My biggest 2 complaints we're a) The shower - the cold water would almost pulse in and out of existance, leaving the water SCALDING hot. We would have opted for baths if the bath hadnt been a half sized affair. Fine for bathing children im sure, but i would DEFINITELY not put your children in this shower.. b) The sound proofing between rooms was pretty poor. Our neighbour seemed to be up ay 7am every day, where we could hear the entire shower, toilet flushing and general clattering around. Not great for a holiday lie in....
