We ate twice at L'oro di Siena during our 7 night stay in the city. The first night we had pizza, which was lovely. On our last night in Siena we shared a beef carpaccio, then had tagliata rucola e grane (rare beef w rocket and thinly shaved italian cheese) and pasta w meat sauce. Both meals were delicious and well-presented and the local beer and chianti were perfect accompaniments. I then tried to ask for two affogatos but the waiter didn't initially understand my poor Italian. However, after a few moments he ran to the kitchen and brought out chocolate and vanilla ice cream and we knew he was on the right track. Soon after, our delicious desserts were presented to us with a big smile. This was a fantastic last dinner in a lovely restaurant with enthusiastic and friendly staff. We will definitely return on our next visit to Siena.
