Four of us have been in Siena for four days and have had some excellent meals in the old city. Since we're renting a villa just outside the walled city, we thought we'd try something different. What a mistake. First, the young male waiter obviously hadn't bathed in days (or longer). We're not talking a slight odor but a truly offensive smell. Next, our orders were wrong and unfortunately we were unable to communicate that because of a language barrier. (We did point to what we wanted on the menu) Two of us ended up with shrimp scampi...huge prawns on a plate loaded with sea salt. We couldn't eat the shrimp without ingesting massive amounts of salt. That, indeed, may be how it's served here but we left hungry. The men's dinners were bland. (They were finished with their meal before we women were even served!) There were two lovely women eating at a table behind us and one graciously translated. They were there for the fist time, one said, and told us their dinner wasn't very good, either. Unless you know what you're ordering, don't mind being served by a smelly waiter, don't mind spending $100 for "entertainment" and are on a diet, avoid going here. There are many wonderful places here in Siena.
