Of the 6 hotels we stayed in while in Italy, this was the only one I would not recommend. While it was in a good location, the staff was not particularly helpful. By this point in our trip, we'd become used to very friendly staff at our other hotels. We were not demanding nor did we make any special requests but it seemed as though we were bothering the attendants when we checked in and out. The room was actually larger than most European hotels but the bathroom was terrible. The shower was just a drain in the bathroom floor with the spout on the wall. There was water damage near the bathroom door. The common areas of the hotel were rather worn. We loved Siena but would not stay here again.

Of the five hotels that we stayed in while visiting Italy, this was the only one that we would not recommend if you require a convenient place to park your car. The location was great for sightseeing and the view of the Duomo from our room was beautiful.
Driving to the hotel in the center of town is hair raising experience. You can only keep your car in the center of town for ten minutes before having to take it to the parking garage which is very far away. We would have been happy to pay for valet parking.
I would recommend staying in a hotel by the stadium if you have a car since you can park much closer to the hotels in the area.

Hotel Duomo is well situated close to the heart of Siena, but not in a noisy street. We had a room with a great view - ask for a Panorama Room when booking. Room was clean and a reasonable size; bathroom was small and cramped but clean and had the necessary facilities. Clean towels every day, room was cleaned well. Breakfast had a good choice, though the quality wasn't fantastic. Carpets in public areas rather grubby and hotel could do more to improve its image. But we'd be happy to stay there again, unlike many hotels we've stayed in in Italy!

Stayed here in May 2005. The location was great - a few minutes walk from the centre of Siena (il campo) and we had a room with a view of the cathedral. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
