“Worth the trek”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

One thing would have been nice to have been told in advance is that the opening hours are (peak season) from 13.30 onwards. We bought a ticket as part of the Duomo / Arch / Museum / Bassillica / Crypt set - and these are good for three days (one vist per site)...

Still, the place is pleasant enough. Lots of OK - ish art (nothing compared to what remains in the Duomo) and a very nice restful cloister next door - good cool venue for piucnic lunch.

“Climb the spiral stairs for breathtaking view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

We personally weren't to intruiged by the museo itself, but it was well worth the entry fee to climb up two very narrow, spiral stairs to get an incredible view of the cathederal, city and countryside!

“Come here for the view, instead of to Torre della Mangia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

Excellent museum, gives up-close look at a number of works in the Duomo and elsewhere. The tour includes a panoramic view over the city and countryside.

“Be forewarned about that wall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2012

The Museum has some beautiful sculptures, tapestries, etc., but the big attraction is the unfinished wall on the top floor. No brainer that we wanted to see the views from the wall, but they don't tell you that you must walk up a tiny, steep, winding staircase, many floors up. Once you get there, it is indeed worth the trip. The picture is Il Campo, in the heart of Siena, from the top of the Duomo wall.

“Nice museum, wide variety of pieces.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

Nice and compact museum, which had a number of different pieces from paintings to sculptures to candle holders, and everything in between. There is a circuit of 5-6 major museums/sites in the center of Siena, which could fill a day for most museum enthusiasts.
