I have hesitated about writing a review of the Enoteca I Terzi because, frankly, I would rather not have our local invaded by tourists. However, it is important to highlight this place. My husband and I are Americans and live in Siena. The Enoteca is our local place and we have been eating and drinking there happily for over a dozen years. The first thing to understand is that this a local place; they have a loyal customer base (local merchants, bankers, friends ) and that means that you should reserve unless you plan to eat at 7:00 and leave by 8:00. If you have a table it is your table for the night. Secondly, do not show up here or at any other respectable osteria, trattoria or ristorante in shorts, flip flops, cut-off tee shirts, etc. and expect to be treated as though you are royalty. Italians are formal and respect people who respect them. The service at Enoteca Terzi is refined Italian service, quiet, helpful and not pushy. If what you want is waiters gushing in whatever language they think you speak, seek another place to eat. This is an Enoteca, which means it is primarily a wine shop, with select things to eat by the day. If you want a huge menu with forty different primi, seek another place to eat. If you wish to eat at an authentic, small, local place and are willing to spend the time, this is a place you should eat.
