“Not bad for a restaurant so close to other tourist traps.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

We were told to go there by a local. Food is ok, and considering how close is to other possible dumps, we were scared to be ripped off. Instead...not bad. Definitely a place to go for a reasonable meal if passing by.

“The Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014 via mobile

Once again we have returned to Siena and the magnificent Le Logge. Our dinner experience was so good that we returned for a second night. My wife and I have been coming here for 15 years now and it is better than ever. No one in Tuscany does traditional local fare any better than this Osteria. Proprietors Mirco and Laura treat every guest as a special person, and Chef Nico creates some of the best dishes in all of Italy. Mirco speaks fluent English among other languages and is a world class wine expert. Let him guide you to a wonderful wine, and his list is full of spectacular selections at reasonable prices. An absolute must visit when in Siena. Do not miss it!

“Delightful Osteria with Excellent Local Taste Treats”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

Osteria le Logge was recommended by one our friends who lives nearby, saying that it is one of the best restaurants in Sienna (perhaps not a great food town) and she was "spot on." The small dining room is very atmospheric with high ceilings and walls lined with bookcases. The small staff (headed by Mirco )was most welcoming and the clientele on the evening that we were there seemed to consist only of Sienese (a very positive sign) other than ourselves. And the food? Excellent ! Our courses included: spaghetti with chopped onions and diced bacon (guanciale) and Pecorino; pasta with deliciously bitter chicory, garlic, olive oil and pereroncini (green peppers); pigeon with artichokes, lemon and liquorice; and slow-cooked (36 hours) veal cheeks with celery and turnip greens. There is an extensive wine list but the restaurant owners have their own vineyards and so we had an excellent Gianni Brunelli 2004 Brunello d' Montalcino. All in all a great evening topped off with a hazelnut gelato dolce and grappa followed by a tour of their nearby impressively stocked wine cellar.

“That's Italian!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

Picked this restaurant out of the Lonely Planet guidebook. This is our second trip to Italy, first time in Siena; we've found the LP restaurant picks to be consistently good. Although we lacked a prenotazione, the staff graciously accommodated us in the downstairs dining room, which was an old apothecary shop in earlier days and still has some of the trimmings. The wine list is so large it has a two-page table of contents; the friendly staff tolerated our fractured Italian. Salmon and salad, pasta ai funghi, carrot soup, tortelli were all delicious as was the vinsanto con biscotti and cheeses for dessert. Highly recommended and one of our better dinners on this trip. Considering two starters, two entrees and all the wine, cheese, etc. the 100 euro tab was quite reasonable.
