“Wonderful!”

We had a wonderful meal here our last night in Siena. The owner helped us choose our meal and was not only helpful but generous and friendly as well.

“A great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013 via mobile

Tuscan pasta with wild boat, stuffed eggplant with local meat, homemade meatballs with hand cut daily fresh pasta, yes this place was great and the service was even better (I think he owned the place)...don't get caught up in all the other places on the piazza and give it a try, you need a second location in Chicago :-)

“The great Ercole!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

From the minute our group of 8 walked in, we knew we had a gem in our host, Ercole. He stayed with us through our entire experience and taught us Americans how to slow down and truly enjoy an Italian meal. He took great care in teaching us about our wine pairings and our food choices. He began with our appetizers all the way down through dessert and our Grappa.

Between the 8 of us, we tried 8 different dishes so we all shared bites. Every single dish prepared was out of this world. I have an allergy to basil so he knew up front that nothing could be cross contaminated. Great care was taken in this process and all 8 meals were prepared without. The atmosphere is warm and intimate.

Tip: Following your meal, go out for a stroll out in Piazza del Campo. Take a seat in the middle and enjoy the night sounds and the stars. Simply amazing.

“Authentic (and delicious!) Sienese Food, Charming Owner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

We visited Siena for a week in early June and came here on our first night at the recommendation of our daughter and son-in-law. What a treat. The food was authentic, plentiful and beautifully prepared, but I think the real attraction for us was the absolutely delightful and charming owner, Hercules (I think I spelled this correctly!). He was friendly, helpful, attentive without hovering and truly just a good-hearted soul. We came back two more times and each time tried something different on the menu. We were never disappointed. The other nice thing is that prices are extremely reasonable (maybe 20 euro per person, including wine and desserts). What a great experience! Grazie mille!

“Made Our Day in Siena”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

Tired, frustrated, we lucked upon this gem. Excellent food and service, but equally important - excellent rapport with the owner; a kind soul who just makes you happy no what your state of mind upon arrival. Perfect for couples or family!! Can't wait to return to eat and visit again
